Happy “GOTCHA” DAY Cherry Pie, in the adoption/rescue world, as we like to say, (since we don’t know your real birthday).

Cherry, You sausage rolled your way into my life 2 years ago and turned it upside down; I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Keep drooling, snuffling, snoring, and refusing to walk as much as you want baby girl, it’s such a pleasure to watch you continue to blossom (like a CHERRY OMGGGG 🌸🥹)

She has come SO far from her default reactive little hornet’s nest setting when I first got her, to going through training at Progressive K9 - PK9, to now being able to calmly ride elevators with other people, dogs and kids—she was even able to attend Thanksgiving at my family’s farm this year!

She loves dog parks, trying to Bodycheck any dog that comes within her radius to try & slow them down (so she doesn’t have to run - work smarter not harder, duhhh) and rolling down her OWN window in the car (thank goodness for Child Lock 🔒) …but will still try to get into any vehicle that pulls up to the curb. Especially Uber eats deliveries 🚚.. no stranger danger with this one 😅

Her side eye is legendary and will cut you down from across the room. Her zoomies are one of a kind. Her walks are not a second longer than absolutely necessary (or she pumps the brakes & pancakes 🥞).

She insists on a daily quota of butt scratches & despises having her paws touched for more than a shake at any point in time (grooming? Nail trims? Forgettabouttit)

So, Cherry may be still missing a couple nuts and bolts. But I love her JUST the same 😂🤣 (those ears? That face? Those teef?! Come ON!)

Still much work to be done (isn’t there always?) but I’m SO proud of Cherry & how far she’s come. Such an amazing girl. From where we started to where we are now…she’s a totally different dog. I’m just grateful. 

Notes: homemade 🎩 that lasted approx 20 secs longer than this video & the 0🕯️ because you never show a ladies’ age on her cake 🍰
