TEACH YOUR PUPPY WHEN PLAYTIME IS OVER 🐶

Even when you’re playing with your puppy, they need to understand that you decide when the game stops.

When you’re ready to stop:

☝️ Give one quick snap of your fingers
🗣️ Say “Uh-uh”
☝️ Keep your finger up after the snap

Then stop playing.

The raised finger becomes a clear visual signal that says: “Enough. We’re done.”

Your puppy should learn that when you give that signal, they stop engaging and respect the boundary.

It’s not about yelling or scolding. It’s about teaching your puppy to understand when play starts—and when play ends.

Clear communication. Calm energy. Consistency. 🐾

Our beautiful puppies are now 7 weeks old and getting ready to find their forever families! ❤️

These puppies have been raised in a dog behaviourist’s home, surrounded by other dogs and young children. They have been handled, socialized, and exposed to everyday family life from an early age.

Each puppy will go home with:

🐶 First vaccinations
🐶 Deworming
🐶 Health records & paperwork
🐶 FREE 1-on-1 training session with The 6ix Dog for their new family
🐶 Lifetime communication and support from us

Our support doesn’t end when your puppy goes home. ❤️

As a dog behaviourist, I will always be available to their new family for the lifetime of their dog if they ever have questions, concerns, or need guidance with training, behaviour, socialization, or anything else along the way.

We are especially hoping to find loving family homes, including families with children, where these puppies will be treated as part of the family and given the love, structure, exercise, and care they deserve.

⚠️ BEFORE YOU JUDGE… READ THIS! ⚠️

No, I am NOT feeding my 5-month-old puppy cooked chicken wings.

Cooked chicken bones are extremely dangerous for dogs. Once cooked, the bones become brittle and splinter into sharp pieces. Those splinters can cause choking or puncture the mouth, throat, stomach, or intestines, leading to emergency surgery—or even death.

This video was created to raise awareness because many people still believe it’s safe to give dogs cooked chicken bones. It isn’t.

At The 6ix Dog, we teach puppies one of the most important life-saving commands: Leave It.

This isn’t just obedience training—it’s a mental exercise. Your puppy learns to fight temptation and make the right decision even when something looks or smells irresistible. That’s real self-control.

During training, we safely place tempting items on the ground and teach the puppy that if it doesn’t come from our hand, it doesn’t go in their mouth. By repeatedly exposing them to these distractions, they become desensitized to picking up random objects and learn to ignore them unless given permission.

This can save your dog’s life by preventing them from picking up:

* Cooked chicken bones
* Medications
* Toxic foods
* Garbage
* Poison or other dangerous objects

The goal isn’t to stop your dog from eating—it’s to teach them to think before they act. A strong Leave It command could be the difference between a normal walk and a life-threatening emergency.

Train the mind, not just the body. 🐾

🐾 Bella is looking for her forever home! 🐾

This beautiful 7-year-old Australian Shepherd mix has come a long way and is ready for her next chapter.

Bella was surrendered due to resource guarding and concerns around children. Over the past three weeks, she has been working with me and has made excellent progress. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves people, belly rubs, and attention.

Bella would do best in a home without children and with an experienced, confident owner who can provide structure and clear boundaries.

✅ Up to date on vaccinations
✅ Next rabies vaccine due in August
