This is Rafael! His coat is super coolā€¦it looks black on the surface, but has a really light undercoat. He was mostly a good boy, until the end, when he decided under my dishwasher was a good place to hide. It ended up costing him more time on the grooming table to wipe off all the dust bunny debris off him šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø.

Yesterday I gave this little monster his first ever groom! Bath, blow dry, a shave of the paw pads and bum, along with a trim of his tiny adorable nails. He felt sooo soft after and smelled amazing!! With all the dirt eating and rolling around he does, it was no wonder he sparkled after. He was such a brave boy and Iā€™m so impressed with how smart he is! Heā€™s only existed in this world for 11 weeks and he already knows how to sit, stay, give paw and lay down. Heā€™s definitely goofball, and thinks heā€™s being smart when he tries to play it off like heā€™s not being a bad boy when he decides that eating large chunks of lawn is a good ideašŸ˜†šŸ˜†

This sassy girl gave me a run for my money! Fearless and oh so soft and SO adorable, sheā€™s definitely not afraid to tell you how she feels! If I had a Manager, she would surely ask to speak with them. After a good deshedding and bath, a shave of the b***y and upper hind legs, along with a trim of her murder mittens, Mamma was all set! I want to introduce everyone to my nephew/new best friend/soulmate/cutest boy that ever existed ever in the whole worldā€¦Gilmore!! My sisterā€™s new fur baby! Heā€™s an 8 week old Golden Retriever and I cannot be more excited to see this puppy grow up and to be a part of that. Tip of the day!

Pet owners, it is worth taking the time to learn about your petā€™s coat type and what kind of grooming services they require.

I had a client today that needed help with the excessive shedding of his Golden Retriever. I found out that two weeks ago, they had him groomed elsewhere. Instead of helping the client out with the issue (shedding), they clipped his hair extremely short. It cost the client alot of money and in my opinion, did a disservice to the dog. It did not help with what the client and dog needed.

Golden Retrievers are a double coated dog. This means that they have a harsh outer coat, and a soft undercoat. The undercoat is what sheds, not the outer coat. So when you clip itā€™s hair, it does absolutely nothing for shedding.

Itā€™s important for pet owners to know what kind of coat their pet has, and what kind of maintenance and services are needed to maintain it. It could save you from getting ripped off!
