We were delighted to host a Career Bus event for students from at your yesterday, for an engaging look into the diverse career paths available at the Zoo. We had the privilege to offer students fresh perspectives on how their education can connect to meaningful career opportunities in conservation. Your Toronto Zoo experts across a variety of areas such as Wildlife Science, Technology, Data Analytics & AI, and Guest Experience delivered insightful career presentations, shared valuable experiences, and truly inspired the students.

It was a pleasure having such an enthusiastic group with us!

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Career Pathways Program (CPP)!

The CPP establishes a robust framework for engaging students and emerging professionals who are passionate about conservation, wildlife, and climate action. The program offers a variety of work-based learning opportunities including co-ops, internships, postdoctoral fellowships, veterinary internships, and apprenticeships, allowing participants to gain meaningful, hands-on experience and explore diverse career paths in the field.

By building strong partnerships with educational institutions, our community partners and other organizations, CPP helps bridge the gap between learning and meaningful work experience, fostering the next generation of conservation leaders.

One of our signature programs under this umbrella is the Climate Action Learning & Leadership (CALL) Program, which is rooted in our commitment to EDIA and supports individuals from equity deserving communities in exploring careers in climate and conservation.

We strive to create “Wow for Good” for our Career Pathways participants, giving them an experience of a lifetime. Our interns and co-op students bring incredible talent, creativity, and passion for conservation. They’ve contributed to projects and initiatives that have been the start of something truly amazing. It’s inspiring to see them engage deeply with our work and, through it, inspire the world. It gives us immense joy to see them begin their journeys as with your Toronto Zoo.

At your Toronto Zoo, our mission is to connect people, animals, conservation science, and traditional knowledge to fight extinction, and our vision is a world where people, wildlife, and wild spaces thrive. The Career Pathways Program helps bring that vision to life — one opportunity at a time.

We are excited to share that Climate Action Learning & Leadership (CALL) is now a part of the Career Pathways Program (CPP) as one of its key initiatives.

More opportunities. Greater impact.

Stay tuned to learn more.

Our CALL intern Megan, had set up an interactive booth during Polar bear week where she had the opportunity to engage with guests, encouraging them to take their own calls to action to help mitigate climate change. She spoke to them about the current status and importance of sea ice for polar bears. She educated guests about the work that organizations like and do in conserving these gentle giants. Learn more about ways in which you as a community can help by visiting https://polarbearsinternational.org/act-now/take-action/
