🚨New Service Alert🚨
Offering support for reactivity/exposure/engagement practice.
If you’re working on excitement or reactivity around guests, walking past people/bikes, or neutrality around other dogs, I’d like to offer some practice support.
**This is not a training session, I’m not offering training advice in these sessions.**
If you’re looking for actual training help, reach out to me at [email protected] and we can set something up. This is meant as a compliment to training sessions as additional support.
Simply extra hands and a body to help you practice around your dog’s triggers or distractions. You should already be working or have worked with a trainer and have clear protocols in place that you can communicate effectively so everyone stays safe.
You tell me what you need. That could be:
- Interacting with you and ignoring the dog
- Going for a walk together, or walking past you at a distance
- Playing with my own dog nearby (in sight, out of sight, at varying distances)
- Ringing your doorbell repeatedly, or knocking
- Coming to your door and standing/waiting
- Bringing my dog into a shared space briefly, then leaving
- Riding a bike or scooter past you
- Standing still nearby while you practice engagement/settle
- Sitting down for coffee or tea nearby while you work at a distance
..or anything else along those lines. You know your dog’s specific triggers best, so tell me what would actually be useful.
These sessions allow you to control the distance and speed we work at and how long each interaction lasts, in a way real world distractions can’t be controlled or predicted as easily. As an industry professional I also understand how to avoid putting unintentional pressure on your dog to interact before they’re ready. This also allows you to give your dog breaks to decompress as needed and sets you both up for success without pushing them over threshold.
Rate is $40 for up to one hour, local sessions only. Send me an email at [email protected] with the subject ‘decoy’ to get started working towards your goals in a meaningful way.
