A balanced raw diet isnโt about one protein, itโs about rotation.
Feeding the same protein every day = more chances for sensitivities, boredom, and nutritional gaps. Rotation keeps things balanced, resilient, and closer to how dogs are meant to eat.
Hereโs a simple structure that actually works:
60โ70% lean proteins
(chicken, turkey, duck, rabbit)
โ Easier to digest, lighter on the system, and help maintain a healthy weight and stool consistency.
30โ40% rich proteins
(beef, lamb, pork, bison, water buffalo)
โ Higher in fat and nutrients like iron and zinc to support energy, muscle development, and overall condition.
2 lean days โ 1 rich day โ repeat
โ Prevents overloading fat while still delivering nutrient-dense variety.
Salmon (1x/week)
โ Natural source of omega-3s (EPA & DHA) to support skin, coat, joints, and reduce inflammation.
Sardines (2x/week)
โ Small oily fish = omega-3s + calcium (if whole) + vitamin D. An easy whole-food boost.
Minimum 3 proteins in rotation
โ Rotating proteins reduces risk of developing sensitivities and creates a more complete nutrient profile over time.
1 fasting day (recommended, once a week)
โ Supports digestive reset and mimics natural feeding patterns. Aids in cellular repair and appetite regulation.
This isnโt about overcomplicating feeding.
Itโs about giving your dog what their body actually understands: variety, balance, and real food.
Save this as your weekly feeding guide. ๐
