Because when it comes to veterinary inventory,𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗶s too late to start thinking about your purchasing strategy.

𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘳𝘶𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 **𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘺–𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳**, which means now is the time to look at where your practice stands and what you realistically expect to need for the rest of the year and what is 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗬 for next year

Instead, use the next few months to get your team on the same page.

✔️ Are doctors recommending consistently?
✔️ Are we carrying multiple brands that do essentially the same job?
✔️ Can we consolidate purchasing without compromising patient care?
✔️ Are we buying what we’ll actually use, or filling shelves to chase a purchase number?

̲𝙵̲𝚘̲𝚛̲ ̲𝙲̲𝚊̲𝚗̲𝚊̲𝚍̲𝚒̲𝚊̲𝚗̲ ̲𝚐̲𝚎̲𝚗̲𝚎̲𝚛̲𝚊̲𝚕̲ ̲𝚙̲𝚛̲𝚊̲𝚌̲𝚝̲𝚒̲𝚌̲𝚎̲𝚜̲, we use 20–25% of revenue as a healthy COGS target. COGS should be reviewed at least quarterly,not discovered as a surprise at year-end.

Get your team aligned on what you recommend.
Know what you already have.
Understand your supplier targets.
