💫Spotlight on board and train graduate NOVA 💫
Nova completed her board and train program in December and was an all star student. Prior to Nova completing her board and train she was:
- extremely over excited to greet people to the point of jumping, excessive whining and barking and being unable to calm down, often having to be gated away from people at the door as a management measure
- pulled excessively on leash
- was reactive and would bark at dogs
- could not be taken off leash
- could not be taken in public due to her pulling and over excitement
During Novas 5 week board and train we worked on finding an outlet for her energy, resulting in her becoming an absolute monster for fetch. She was able to quickly learn a number of reliable obedience commands through the game, leading to excellent obedience and impulse control. Nova is now totally off leash reliable with the ecollar, can be taken in public on outings where she encounters other people and dogs without losing her mind, she can socialize with dogs in and outside of the home, and ultimately be the best companion for her people. Ultimately Nova now gets to live a more fulfilled life being able to be taken on off leash outings without the fear of her running off, she gets to play her favourite game to fulfill her high energy needs, and she gets to be the companion that goes anywhere with her people that they always wanted.
Novas owners have been keeping up the great work with her since she has returned home and Nova continues to be an all star graduate!
