DONā€™T WALKā€¦ RUN TO PET VALU HOLLINGER COURT! THE CANADA POOCH SUSPENDER BOOTS ARE BACK!!! šŸŽ‰

And if thereā€™s ONE piece of winter gear I could convince every dog owner in Northern Ontario to invest in, ITā€™S THESE! Last year, these boots flew off the shelves, and by the time December rolled around, they were practically impossible to find! So consider this your friendly October warning before weā€™re all knee deep in snow wondering why we didnā€™t buy winter boots when we had the chance.

If youā€™ve ever brought your dog inside after a winter adventure and spent the next 20 minutes picking giant snowballs out of their legs, you NEED to look at these! Theyā€™re fantastic for keeping those paws and legs warm, helping prevent those dreaded snowballs, and keeping your dog comfortable during our lovely Northern Ontario winters. Theyā€™re also amazing at keeping dogs clean and warm especially for those shorter hair breeds.

No more sacrificing individual dog boots to the snowbank gods every time you go for a walk!

Hereā€™s a little Northern Collar Club winter hack! šŸ‘€ If youā€™re heading out for a longer adventure or vigorous adventure we like to use a little hockey tape around the top of the boot openings to help seal out the snow and to keep them a little more snug. Just make sure itā€™s secured over the boot material, never tight around your dogā€™s legs. Because if thereā€™s one thing Iā€™ve learned from spending my winters outside with dogs, itā€™s that snow will find its way into absolutely EVERYTHING. šŸ˜‚

Iā€™ll be working at Pet Valu Hollinger Court tonight (Tuesday October 13) from 5ā€“9 PM, and Iā€™d LOVE to help you get your dog properly fitted! Bring them in, and Iā€™ll happily show you how the boots work, how to put them on, and help you find the right size.

Seriously, these are one of my absolute favourite winter investments, especially for those of us who donā€™t stop adventuring just because the temperature drops! ā¤ļø

Donā€™t wait until December! Last year they disappeared FAST, and Iā€™d hate for you to miss out!

Apparently we have officially reached the ā€œletā€™s build a drive thru for petsā€ stage of our lives and before anyone gets too excitedā€¦ itā€™s nothing fancy. Weā€™re literally putting together a little fun drive thru window. The whole idea is just to make it fun, give you and your pets the full drive thru feeling, and hopefully bring our community together to help us stock the Pet Pantry with enough food, litter and supplies to carry us through the winter. ā¤ļø Youā€™ll pull in, follow the pylons, stay in your vehicle and pull right up to our little window to place your petā€™s order. Honestly, the fact that weā€™re actually building = this makes me laugh every time I think about it. šŸ˜‚

But there is actually a reason we decided to make this a drive thru. Itā€™s October in Northern Ontario, which means it could be sunny, raining, snowing, freezing cold or somehow all of the above. You get to stay warm and dry in your car. It also means pets who might not normally be able to enjoy an event can still come along. Bring your senior dog, your shy dog, your barky dog who plans on announcing their arrival before you even reach the pylons, your puppy, your catā€¦ heck, bring your lizard or your snake. šŸ˜‚ We probably donā€™t have anything exciting on the menu for the reptiles, but they can still pull up to the window and get their free drive thru photo. šŸ“ø

If your pet has their own Facebook, Instagram or TikTok account (because some of our animals are influencers now! let us know their @ or hashtag and weā€™ll gladly tag them when we share their photo!

And behind all the silliness is a really important reason weā€™re doing this. ā¤ļø Every dollar raised will be taken right inside Pet Valu Hollinger Court and used to purchase food, litter and other much needed supplies for the Pet Pantry. Our hope is that together, we can stock those shelves enough to help carry the Pantry through the winter months and continue being there when local pets and their families need a little extra help. Youā€™ll also get to see what your support helped us purchase, while those dollars go right back into another locally owned Timmins business.

So no, donā€™t expect a McDonaldā€™s level drive thru. šŸ˜‚ Expect smiles, some pylons, a bunch of pets, and a whole lot of community coming together for a really good reason.
