This beautiful patient is Meo, a 3-year-old Scottish Fold who recently visited us at Centre Street Animal Hospital to be treated for an eye infection.
While our veterinary team focused on diagnosing her symptoms, Meo focused entirely on her favorite creamy paste treat. Using positive distractions like this is part of our professional commitment to Fear-Free veterinary visits, ensuring our patients remain calm, comfortable, and happy during their examinations. Thanks to a little gourmet motivation, Meo's assessment was seamless, and she is now safely on the road to recovery!
⚠️ A Quick Tip from Our Medical Team:
Feline eye infections can stem from bacteria, viruses, or environmental irritants, and they can escalate quickly if left untreated. If you notice your pet squinting, pawing at their face, or showing unusual redness or discharge, it is important to have them evaluated by a veterinarian right away to protect their vision.
Whether your furry family member needs a diagnostic checkup or just a routine wellness exam, our team is always here to provide expert care—and plenty of treats!

🐶 💙🐶 Charlie, a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, recently stopped by for his annual wellness exam, and his happy smile made everyone’s day! Charlie loves saying hi to his favourite vet, Dr Slome. 🥰🐾
Did you know that Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are beloved for their gentle, affectionate natures? Originally bred as companion dogs for royalty, they are famous for their loving personalities, expressive eyes, and ever-wagging tails. They make wonderful companions, but they’re also predisposed to certain health conditions, including mitral valve disease, a heart condition, making regular veterinary checkups especially important.
Routine wellness visits give us the opportunity to monitor for early signs of health concerns, answer your questions, and keep your pet feeling their best.
Charlie was a perfect gentleman from start to finish, and we always love seeing his wagging tail walk through our doors! 🐾🐶
📅 Is your pet due for their annual wellness exam? Contact us to book their visit—we’re here to help them stay happy and healthy every step of the way. 💙🐾

🐱💕 Meet Snow White and Mimi—two of the sweetest little patients who have captured all of our hearts. These adorable fur balls were recently seen for upset tummies, and got plenty of TLC from our veterinary team.
🐱 Did you know?
Kittens have sensitive digestive systems, and tummy upsets can happen for many reasons. Watch for signs like vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, or lethargy. If symptoms last more than a day or your kitten seems unwell, it’s time to schedule a veterinary visit.
We’re happy to report that Snow White and Mimi received the care they needed, along with lots of cuddles from our team. Wishing these gorgeous girls many healthy, playful days ahead! 💙🐾
Healthy kittens are happy kittens! 🩺💙

🦆 Meet Roni, our resident duck enthusiast! 🦆
Our wonderful receptionist, Roni, has a unique talent for making the reception desk a little more fun—one plastic duck at a time! 😄
What makes her collection even more special is that many of her ducks have been brought back for her by clients, friends, colleagues, and family from their travels around the world. 🌎✈️ Each duck has its own little story and helps make the display truly unique!
📸 Here’s Roni proudly showing off her growing collection. We wonder where her next duck will come from! 🐤💛

❤️🐾Celebrating 16 Years of Dedication! 🐾❤️
Some journeys come full circle, and we’re so grateful to be part of this one.
Today we’re celebrating our incredible office manager/registered veterinary technician, Danya, who has been a valued member of our team for 16 years! Long before she wore scrubs, she walked through our doors as a child alongside her mom, bringing their beloved family pets for care.
Watching her grow from a young client into the compassionate, skilled veterinary professional she is today has been truly special. Her dedication to our patients, their families, and our team shines through every single day.
Thank you for 16 years of hard work, kindness, and unwavering commitment. We are so proud to have you as part of our family and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Please join us in congratulating her on this amazing milestone! 🎉💙

💖Daisy & Rosie stole the spotlight today!💖

These adorable Yorkie sisters came in for their annual wellness exams and had the sweetest visit with Dr Slome! They received their annual vaccines, were both given their monthly oral flea and tick prevention medication, Simparica, and Daisy received her monthly Cytopoint injection.
Cytopoint is an injectable medication used to control itching caused by allergic skin disease (atopic dermatitis) in dogs. It works differently from steroids or many oral allergy medications.
Here’s what it does:
* 🐶 Relieves itching caused by environmental allergies (such as pollen, dust mites, or mold).
* 💉 Targets a specific itch signal (a protein called IL-31) rather than suppressing the entire immune system.
* ⏳ Provides relief for 4 weeks in most dogs, though the duration may vary.
* ❤️ Has few systemic side effects, making it a good option for many dogs, including seniors or those with certain health conditions.
Cytopoint is not used to treat:
* Flea infestations (dogs still need flea prevention)
* Food allergies (though it may help control the itch while the underlying allergy is addressed)
* Skin infections (these need separate treatment)
* Ear infections (unless the itching is due to allergies and the infection is treated as well)
Many dogs with seasonal or year-round allergies receive Cytopoint injections as part of their long-term allergy management plan, often alongside good parasite prevention and treatment of any secondary skin infections.

🐶💙 If your pup struggles with itchy skin caused by environmental allergies, Cytopoint may help! Give us a call—we’d be happy to help them find some relief! 💙🐾

It was such a joy spending time with these two little cuties—we can’t wait to see you again, Daisy & Rosie! 🩷
