🧭 Something new is taking shape... 🐾

Over the past few months, we've been figuring out what we want the future of this business to look like.

We've realized that what we really want to build is bigger than grooming alone.

We want to help pets look good, feel good, learn, grow, and thrive, while giving their people a little more support along the way.

That means grooming
That means training
That means pet care

And it means being able to serve our community in a way that isn't tied to one physical shop.

So with that new direction comes a new name.
Snips & Giggles is becoming...

A new name, a new direction, and a whole lot of exciting things being planned.

We're based in Sault Ste. Marie, while continuing to serve surrounding areas.

We'll be sharing more about what Canine Compass will offer soon.

🐾 A little update from Snips & Giggles 🐾

It's been a while since we've posted, so we wanted to check back in and let everyone know what's been happening behind the scenes.

Snips & Giggles unfortunately had to close its doors after we lost our shop location in Thessalon. It definitely wasn't the ending we had planned for, especially after putting so much work into getting started, but sometimes things take you in a different direction than you expected.

We've spent some time figuring out what comes next, and while opening back up wasn't the plan, we just couldn't stay away, and one thing became very clear:

We're not done working with pets. ❤️

We're now based in Sault Ste. Marie, but we're still able to serve clients in Thessalon and surrounding communities.

We're also taking things in a slightly different direction. We're working toward offering a wider range of pet services, including grooming, nail care, training, service-dog foundations, pet sitting, and more.

We won't have a dedicated shop location for the time being, but that doesn't mean we're disappearing. We're building something that can grow with us while continuing to help pets and their people.

There's a lot being worked on behind the scenes right now...

And Snips & Giggles is about to become something new. 🧭🐾

Edit to add: appointments scheduled for today will still be completed.

Unfortunately, Snips & Giggles will be closing effective immediately.

Due to an unexpected breakdown in the business arrangement connected to the space we were operating in, we are no longer able to continue providing grooming services at this location.

This was not a decision we planned or wanted to make, and ultimately the decision was out of our hands and not made by us, especially after just opening our doors and beginning to meet so many wonderful dogs and their owners. We are incredibly grateful to those who supported us, created profiles, booked appointments, or stopped in to say hello during our short time here.

For any clients who had appointments scheduled or were planning to book, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your understanding.

Thank you again to everyone who supported Snips & Giggles. The kindness and encouragement we received meant a lot.

Miss Daisy May came to visit Snips & Giggles today! ✂️🐾

She arrived as a very nervous little girl, shaking and unsure about this whole “grooming salon” thing. But with some patience, gentle handling, and lots of reassurance, she slowly started to relax.

By the end of her groom, Daisy May was feeling much better — and looking absolutely fabulous! 💚

It’s always so rewarding seeing a nervous pup leave more comfortable than when they came in.

You did amazing today, Daisy May! Such a brave little lady. 🐶✨

Two very different spa days at Snips & Giggles today!

Zeus stopped by for a bath and deshed — just a good scrub, blowout, and some help getting rid of all that extra fur. Look at that smile!

Clay came in for a fresh start. His coat was matted, so we gave him a comfortable shave down to get him feeling clean and happy again. Sometimes starting over is the best way to go.

No matter the coat or the condition, every pup leaves feeling better than when they came in.
