Miss Pearl's story. Back in February 2026 our shelter was contacted about a stray cat that was hanging around a recently occupied home. She was pregnant and homeless. In early March, Pearl came our way, and shortly after, gave birth to five adorable kittens. She was an amazing mom, and her kittens quickly found homes, but Pearl waited. She was frequently overlooked for adoption, and shelter life was starting to weigh heavy on her mental health 😔 We were thrilled when an application came forward for her, and thought she had finally found a home after months waiting. Sadly, her adoption didn't work out, and she was heartbreakingly left at our door several weeks later. Miss Pearl is just the sweetest girl. She loves our catio, and will bask in the sun for hours if you let her 🌞 She is very playful, and loves boxes! She welcomes pets and cuddles, although we think is missing out on truly interacting with people due to her dislike of other cats. Pearl is fully vaccinated, dewormed and spayed. Her age is unknown as she arrived as a stray. Pearl does not like the company of other cats, and has not been dog tested, but we believe would prefer a dog free home based on her behavior. Mr. Spunky is creeping up on month two with us, and he would really love to find his forever family soon 😊 This boy is the sweetest pup. Although shelter staff do our very best for every animal in our care, shelter life can be quite stressful 😔 Spending the majority of their day stuck in a kennel, waiting for a home. We try and explain to them that their people are coming, and we hope everyday that "today" is their day ❤️ Spunky never complains. Although we know he's struggling, he will sit quietly on his bed waiting. Spunky is a two year old lab cross. He is fully vaccinated, dewormed and neutered. He prefers not to share attention with other dogs, and is unfortunately not good with cats. People are his favorite, and he meets them with ease. Miss Eleanor's journey with us so far ❤️ This girl arrived our way several weeks ago as a found stray. We later learned that she may have been brought our way by someone she knew, and was not a lost pet. On intake, this girl presented extreme fear and discomfort, especially when touched 😔 We had concerns about her health, and we booked her for a vet check. After several tests, miss Ellie was diagnosed with Cushings disease, and we immediately started treatment. Our vet figures she is a senior, around 10 yrs old. Our amazing shelter staff have spent the last several weeks stabilizing her medications, and gaining her trust. She is doing amazing, but does need a bit more time before we can find her an amazing retirement home 😊 Ellie will be looking for a home that can provide her with daily medications, and give her that extra time to feel safe/loved. We do believe that her past may hold some trauma, therefore her journey to find a loving home is now guided at her pace ❤️ We have included some photos of beautiful Ellie from intake day until today 😊 We even got some tail wags recently, and have shared some videos in the comments. We are very grateful this beautiful lady came our way, and that we have this amazing opportunity to give her all we can, and help her find an amazing home ❤️ 🏡

Adorable Mr. Spunky would really love to find an amazing home soon ❤️ Athough this boy never complains, we do see the little signs that he is struggling with shelter life 😔 Spunky is such an amazing boy, and has THE best manners. He doesn't jump up. Walks amazing on leash, and takes treats ever so gentle. Spunky is extremely clean in his kennel, which can be a challenge for shelter animals with the overnight wait. He is indifferent around other dogs, but has not been tested one on one. He unfortunately does not do well with cats. Spunky is a two year old lab cross, who is fully vaccinated, dewormed and neutered. We are so very grateful to share the adoption news of our miss Keeta ❤️ The following photos show just a glimpse of her journey with us since intake day June 2026. Keeta was secured from a surrounding property heavily pregnant, where she not only struggled to find food, but also just wanted to experience the feel of a gentle hand 😔 She came our way with her seven brand new puppies, and was the best mom 😊 All of Keeta's pups found amazing homes, and now it was Keeta's turn. We are so happy to share that Keeta found an amazing home ❤️ Her new dad is such an incredible person. He has spent almost everyday, for almost a month, coming in to spend time with her. He never rushed her, and would just sit with her for hours. Yesterday, Keeta was adopted 💕 She will begin her journey with her new dad on a road trip to Vernon. We think, what's a better way to bond than a road trip 😊 Happiest Adoption Day sweet Keeta ❤️ We are so happy for you and your new amazing dad. Be good sweet girl 😊

This poor girl was brought our way a few weeks ago as a found stray. She arrived in horrible condition 😔 She was extremely emaciated weighing in at just shy of 2.5 pounds. She was so riddled with fleas that her poor body was covered in open wounds 😔 We immediately noticed that she was struggling to eat, and booked her into our vet as soon as we could. Our vet found the reason for her discomfort. A tumor on her tongue, possibly cancer, and a mouth full of rotten teeth. Our vet removed her rotten teeth, and injected the tumor with an anti cancerous medication. With the scary cancer word, we were so unsure about her future, but with the encouragement from our amazing vet to just give this girl a chance, we did. Thanks to our 100% donated funds to our Alfred's Love Fund, this girl is on the road to recovery 💕 She is now eating and drinking well and is recieving pain management. Our amazing vet team commented on how much of a fighter she was during treatment, and even fought the heavy anesthetic like a true surviver ❤️They suggested she needed a fighter's name, and we have chosen Allie, for Muhammad Ali ❤️ Welcome to our fold miss Allie 😊 Thanks to some pretty amazing people donating to our A.L.F. Fund, we got you ❤️

Our beautiful miss Eleanor, Ellie for short on a stroll with our amazing shelter staff ❤️ This beautiful senior arrived with us one week ago, very scared and sick 😔 A recent vet visit has diagnosed this pretty lady with Cushings disease, and we have started treatment. She has come leaps since intake, and we think her medications are finally making her feel better ❤️ Ellie will be looking for an extra special retirement home soon 😊 Her diagnosis is new, so we are in the beginning stages of treatment, and want to stabilize her prior to adoption. She will require a very patient home. One that will let her feel safe and come to you on her terms. A home that can provide her with daily medications and follow-up vet appointments when required. A home where she can just put her gramma feet up and exhale ❤️ Stay tuned for Ellie's adoption journey. We do hope to post her happily ever after story soon 💕

Miss "Spirit" and her 8 adorable puppies arrived with us two weeks ago. This momma and her babies were struggling and needing immediate help. Spirit arrived extremely malnourished, with every bone on her body visible, but still managed to somehow keep her babies going. This family is now thriving and these adorable pups are ready for their amazing homes 🏡 Breeds are unknown, but momma Spirit is a medium sized shep/husky cross. Pups have received their first vaccine and dewormer treatment. Meet and greets and application handouts for these beautiful puppies will be available starting Monday, August 17th. Beautiful Spirit will also be looking for an amazing home soon, and if you have visited our shelter recently, and got to meet this sweet momma, you can agree with us about just how sweet, and friendly she is 😊 At just a year old herself becoming a momma, she hasn't yet got to have the comfort to just be a dog, and experience the safety and security of a loving home ❤️ Stay tuned for her adoption process 😊 Do feel free to reach out to learn more about our adoption program. This lady arrived with us four days ago. She came in extremely scared and shutdown. We have recently received information suggesting that she was brought to us as a surrender, but received a different story on intake. We are just grateful she is safe with us. Today, she went to our vet as we had some concerns. After several tests, our vet has diagnosed this girl with Cushings disease. This happens sometimes in older dogs and makes their body create too much cortisol hormones, which damages their immune system, creating a list of uncomfortable symptoms. We have started treatment, and she is doing well 😊 We are looking for an extra special home for this girl. Our vet figures she is a senior, and estimated her age at around 10 years old. She will require daily medications to help her remain stable and be comfy 😊 We have named her Eleanor, Ellie for short. We will be spending the next few days watching her to make sure her medications are adjusted right, and then we do really hope to find her an amazing home ❤️
