So proud 🥹

After what some have called a ruff election, we have a winner!

Congratulations to Kitimat's Dog Mayor, Gus!

As Kitimat's first ever Dog Mayor, Gus is excited for this honour and promises to lead with poise and integrity. He also heartily thanked his Dog Mayor competitor Koko for a good-spirited campaign.

Gus received 569 ballots, versus Koko's 435 ballots.

So what now? We'll reach out to Kitimat's schools with news of the results too and thank the participation of local students for making this a success.

And while of course the Dog Mayor campaign platforms were made just to help promote the local municipal elections, we will work with our new Dog Mayor on opportunities for fun initiatives in the year ahead.

The results, plus a survey about the program, is on our website at https://www.kitimat.ca/municipal-office/dog-mayor.

Thank you for participating!

Find a groomer who thinks this is just as important as the dogs hair cut. 🐾🙌
