And to top off my day back, I got to meet this little toasted marshmallow. 🥹

Maisie had some big feelings for her first visit (those clippers are ticklish and loud!) but she did very well overall. We even ended the visit with some puppy snuggles while we waited for mom to come pick her up. She even ended up falling asleep in my arms.

A solid ending to a busy first day back. 🥰

Alex’s old boy Ben got to try out our new electric tables and I think it’s a win! He was able to get on the table with ease due to how low to the ground it can lower, and it’s got some sick hydraulics to bounce on when he barks! 😅

(Though I’m not entirely sure that’s the intended use in the instruction manual… but pop off king!!!)

Topaz came in afterward for a good shave down. We usually keep her a little longer but she was having a hard time beating the heat, so we took her down an extra length so she can be more comfortable this summer. ❤️

Phoebe started out my morning and kept me busy! But we’ve finally found a length and style that works with her within family’s schedule and preferences, so it’s just maintenance from here on out! 💯

Working with Tilly has been incredibly rewarding. She's the "hard to get" type, but in the way that doesn't want to be pursued.
She's done a lot of work in giving me the benefit of the doubt and I've done a lot of work to earn her trust.
We were able to get through an almost entire dry service-without mom! 🥹❤️
I love a dog that dares me to earn their trust. Tilly is a wonderful girl and I love being a part of her world 🌎🪩

If you meet a dog where they're at, you're going to get the result you're looking for AND you'll get it quicker.
Xenia isn't a show dog. She's a nervous old lady.
She HATES the dryer near her face, so we towel dry the best we can and use a fluff dryer on low to passively dry it. She can't tolerate quick movements around her face, and there is a steep cutoff point on her forehead where she stops allowing the clippers on her face. So, I scissor it slowly the best I can while she fidgets. She really struggles for her front legs, so we use a cone and don't aim for perfection. The cone protects her from biting at my clippers and injuring her mouth and she honestly doesn't mind it.
She doesn't need me to force her through a fluffy haircut. She needs me to be an advocate for what she can cope with. She needs me to not cause harm while I take care of her. Xen is Marcos best friend and it's my privilege to take care of her ❤️✨
