Early socialization shapes how your dog views the world for the rest of their life. Exposing them to new sights, sounds, people, and controlled environments builds confidence and reduces fear-based behaviors later on. Keep interactions positive, short, and safe to create a well-rounded adult dog 🐾

Let’s talk about recall. 🐾

The biggest mistake I see with recall training? People forget to make it fun for their dog.
If every time your dog comes to you it means the leash goes on, the park time ends, or they get ignored… they’ll stop wanting to come.

šŸŒ€ Coming to you should feel like the best part of their day.
When recall is fun, exciting, and rewarding (from your dog’s perspective), it actually sticks.
We need to build a connection that makes them want to come running — not feel forced to.

Let me help you create that kind of relationship. šŸ’›

Dexter just wrapped up his 4-week training program and made incredible progress! At only 7 months old, he’s now confidently walking on a loose leash, coming when called, holding his place, and showing off solid obedience skills 🐾

His family can now enjoy peaceful walks and even bring him along to relax on patios during lunch — such a win for everyone! And since Dexter’s going to be around 100 pounds fully grown, getting that foundation early on was super important for his owners. So proud of this sweet boy and how far he’s come šŸ’›

Darla just turned 3 months old, and in only her second session, she’s already confidently holding the place command!

ā€œPlaceā€ is so much more than just staying on a bed. It teaches dogs how to regulate their energy, builds impulse control, improves focus, and boosts overall confidence. It’s one of the first skills I teach because it sets the foundation for everything else.

If you’re ready to start building a calm, focused, and confident dog, send a message to get started!🐾

Patio season is officially here—and while we’re all about iced lattes and sunshine, it’s also the perfect time to work on something super important for our dogs: neutrality.

Here’s Akuna living her best life on a Starbucks patio, just laying down and observing the world go by. But this isn’t just a cute moment—it’s actually a really valuable training opportunity. Busy patios are full of distractions: people walking by, dogs, food smells, loud noises… all the things that can make an excited pup want to react.

Teaching neutrality in spaces like this helps dogs learn how to regulate their emotions, build calm focus, and stay settled no matter what’s going on around them. It’s also amazing for mental stimulation—it gives them something to process and work through, which can be just as tiring as a long walk.

So the next time you head out for a coffee or lunch on a patio, bring your pup and turn it into a learning moment. Real-life training = real-life results!

Tecumseh Pointers has a fresh new look! This logo represents everything we believe in when it comes to training and the bond between you and your dog. The infinity symbol is a nod to my MƩtis heritage and our core philosophy: training should build an infinite, unbreakable relationship between you and your best friend.

Every part of this logo reflects our mission: balanced training, clear communication, and mutual trust. Training isn’t just about obedience—it’s about understanding, confidence, and creating a lifelong partnership with your dog.

I’m so proud of how far Tecumseh Pointers has come, and this is just the beginning!šŸ¤
