With shorter days and reduced visibility, Municipal Enforcement is reminding everyone to slow down, stay alert, and watch for pedestrians.

Drivers:
✅ Slow down in school and playground zones
✅ Yield to pedestrians at crosswalks
✅ Never pass a vehicle stopped at a crosswalk
Pedestrians:
✅ Use crosswalks whenever possible
✅ Make eye contact with drivers before crossing
✅ Wear bright or reflective clothing when walking after dark

A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference. Let's work together to keep Sylvan Lake safe for everyone this fall.

Two young cats have been found in the industrial area and appear to be away from home. If you are missing these cats or know who they belong to, please contact Municipal Enforcement at 403-858-7280.

Golf Cart Season Has Officially Ended

As of October 1, 2026, the golf cart season in Sylvan Lake has officially come to a close.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our permit holders for helping make the first season of our new golf cart program a success. Your cooperation, feedback, and commitment to operating safely on municipal roads played an important role in launching this program.

Please remember that golf carts are no longer permitted to operate on municipal roads, as all annual permits expired on September 30, 2026.

Council has approved a special Halloween exemption, allowing permitted golf carts to operate on October 31, 2026, until 9:00 p.m. Additional information will be shared closer to Halloween.

Thank you again for a great first season. We look forward to seeing you in 2027!
