Meet our instructors:

Shauna has been teaching dog classes for over 40 years and is still thoroughly enjoying it! Quite early in life she realized she could enjoy her dogs much more and do much more with them if they were well trained. To this end she set out about training the family pets, neighbors dogs and even the occasional stray. She saw how much the dogs enjoyed the attention and how we

ll trained dogs were received by everyone. Over the years she attended many obedience classes with a variety of different dogs. Through attending those classes she formed a couple of opinions.
1) She never wanted a dog to be obedient out of fear.
2) Teaching a dog to behave in a clean building or gym was fairly easy... getting that same obedience outside in the real world was a different thing all together! Shauna remembers being 13 and chasing her Top Obedience dog, an Irish Setter, the entire mile to class just to have her bolt out the door from a perfect off leash heel and spend the rest of the class trying to catch her while she had a great time running around the school fields! After that she came to the conclusion that dogs need to be trained in the real world with real distractions. Now that Shauna is the teacher and not the student she has taken her experiences and puts them to good use, teaching dogs how to work with you no matter where you may be. Shauna teaches outdoors or in indoor riding arenas where there are lots of smells and the occasional horse or cat. In the summer she takes her classes to the streets stopping for a nice cup of coffee on your way back to your car or to the trails for a good hike. Shauna does not use treats or clickers because she wants her dogs to work with her out of love and respect not because she has bribed them. Shauna understands that everyone has a different idea in mind for their pet whether it is an obedience champion or just a loving family member that is a pleasure to own, she will work with you and together you can achieve your goal. Tara grew up with rescue dogs and has been surrounded by animals her entire life. Even as a kid, she was the one friends turned to for help with their dogs. Most of her experience has been hands-on, working primarily with horses and dogs and learning what truly works in real-life situations. Tara began her professional dog training career at PetSmart, where she gained a foundation in training but quickly realized the methods didn’t always translate well outside of a classroom setting. Wanting to grow, she sought out other trainers and learned from their experiences and approaches. For several years, she switched her career path and worked with children while continuing to teach private dog training classes whenever she could, as her passion for working with dogs never left. After getting her own dog, she began taking classes with Shauna and eventually apprenticed under her, which helped shape the trainer she is today. Tara has also done nose work (scent detection) and loves watching dogs begin that journey—seeing their confidence grow as they learn to use their natural abilities is one of her favorite parts of training. She has been at LMCA for a year now and loves every minute of it. Helping dogs and their people build understanding, trust, and strong relationships is something she looks forward to. Our training method:

LMCA uses a no-treat training method - we build respect by becoming a strong pack leader. We will teach you how to set proper rules, boundaries and limitations for your furry family member so that every one can enjoy a respectful relationship. Our classes are taught outdoors around real every day distractions. Teaching your dog to work a behave in real world situations will leave you with a well rounded family pet. Which of these ingredients helps support healthy digestion?

The answer: both. Pumpkin and ginger are a powerful pairing in our Optimum Combinations approach, working together to support digestive health.

Pumpkin is a natural source of fibre, helping food move through the digestive system, while ginger is known for its soothing properties, helping promote easier digestion.

That’s why this balanced combination is featured in our S6 Nutram Sound Balanced Wellness Adult Dog Recipe — thoughtfully crafted to support your dog’s health and wellbeing from the inside out. That’s the Nutram way.

This Dog is in need of a home.
A family member gave an older lady the dog with good intentions but she's just too much for her.
She is a 7 month old shepherd cross.. ) She is not up for/ nor able for the daily training this pup requires.

She is essentially fostering her at the moment but there is no training/discipline being done…

She has provided the pup with up to date shots/vaccines and she is spade.
(And house trained)

We would be grateful for any assistance/referral 🙂
