Kitchenband Farm CSA Kitchenband Farm CSA operates on 1 acre of ALR land in the Tynehead area of Surrey and corners onto the Serpentine River. What is a CSA?

Sign up for a "share" and receive freshly harvested local organic vegetables grown sustainably and delivered to a pick-up location near you in 25 weekly instalments. This will be the 2nd year of operation in this beautiful location. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. How it Works: The season begins the first or second week in June (depending on the weather) and will run for 25 weeks i

nto November. Each week the produce will be harvested and delivered to a designated pick-up location the same day (or the next morning). There will be 2 harvests per week, 1 servicing Vancouver and Burnaby, and the other servicing New Westminster and Surrey. Each shareholder will receive a box of assorted veggies each week. The contents of the box will vary depending on the season. In the spring and early summer, the boxes will be small with fewer items, but will increase in size as the season continues. The box may include vegetables that you are unaccustomed to, so please be adventurous and give them a try! The cost of one share for the 2013, 25 week season is $675 works out to $27 per week. (Please remember that the first few boxes will be contain less than $27 worth of produce, but the late summer and fall boxes should make up for them). Payments can be made by cash, electronic fund transfer, or cheque in one lump sum, or in 3 instalments and are due:

If you have a vacation planned, or will be unable to pick-up your produce one week, please make arrangements for a friend or neighbour to receive your share, or let me know ahead and I can redistribute your items between shareholders. If you would like to visit the farm, please do! Make arrangements ahead with Meghan. Any volunteer work is encouraged and appreciated. Pick-up locations for this year are still to be confirmed but will most likely include:
- Commercial Drive area (near 4th Ave.)
- Burnaby (EA Sports)
- New Westminster (Queens Ave. @ 11th St.)
- Surrey (on farm pick-up)
- south Surrey/Delta area
