In case of a true emergency, please call Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic; 705-722-0377
If you have a concern, or you are not sure if this is a true emergency and you would like to talk to a virtual veterinarian, please go to Smart.Vet. Verzijlenberg Veterinary Hospital is now offering online after-hours consultations for our canine and feline patients with an Ontario licensed veterinarian through a new partnership with Smart.Vet. You can then pick up the medication at Sundridge or South-River Pharmacy till 6:00pm, or the Shoppers Drug Mart in Huntsville till 10:00pm. On average, most cases can be completed remotely. In case your pet needs to be seen in person, the online veterinarian can refer you back to us for in-clinic care the following day, or refer you to the Huronia Emergency Hospital for emergency care. In these cases, the online veterinarian will call us or the emergency clinic to discuss the case and send the medical record of the virtual consultation. To submit a request, please go to https://smart.vet, and click ‘Get Started’. Once you’ve created an account, you can decide to send in a message or request a phone/video call. Please note that messages are meant for non-urgent cases and will be responded to within 8 hours of submission. When you’ve submitted a phone/video request, a veterinarian will reach out to you as soon as they’re available. Please just wait for a call from 289-768-8784 - this may take more than 20 minutes when we’re experiencing high call volumes. Once a request has been submitted, you can add additional notes about your pet’s condition/ concern or add images/videos to the consultation for the veterinarian’s reference. If you have any issues during scheduling, you can send an email to [email protected] and they will be happy to help you. Wishing you and your pet good health!
