We are a non-profit group of volunteers who are dedicated to trying to ensure all cats have a loving, forever home. Based in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

More info on our adoption process. We charge a $100 adoption fee which helps to offset the cost of care, veterinary care, first set of vaccinations and treatment with Revolution. If interested in adopting one of our "adoptables", an adoption application must be completed and submitted for approval. Once approved, your kitten will be held for you until the kitten is ready for adoption. When choosing a potential home for these kittens we want to ensure they are going to homes where they will be indoor only (in most situations), will be provided with all veterinary care required including vaccinations, spay/neuter and any follow up care required. Declawing is not permitted with any of our kittens and is in our adoption contract. The application form and contract are available on our website so please take the time to read this through before applying to ensure you are OK with our requirements prior to application. We do require all kittens to be picked up and taken home in a cat carrier for their safety. We do follow up on our kittens to ensure all requirements have been followed and all is going well as we love to see our babies grow into happy cats and members of their new homes.

Here is your official introduction to Dolly and her…7 babies!!

If you guessed 7, you were right!! The guesses in our kitten pile post ranged from 4-12 so we’ve included a picture with all the kitties revealed from the pile!

Dolly, named after Dolly Parton, actually only gave birth to 6 sweet kittens but happily took in a 7th orphaned kitten (who is a week older than the rest!) last week. Here are all her sweet kittens at 3 weeks old (Smokey is 4 weeks)!

🐾💙 KCH NEEDS A VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR 💙🐾

Keeping Cats Homed is looking for someone — or perhaps TWO someones! — to step into the important role of Volunteer Coordinator.

This is an immediate need for our organization.

KCH simply cannot continue helping the number of kittens and young cats that we do without a strong team of volunteers behind us. As our rescue continues to grow and change, we need someone dedicated to helping us build and support that team.

🐱 WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Our Volunteer Coordinator would help:

🐾 Recruit new volunteers and match them with areas where help is needed

🐾 Welcome new volunteers and help them get started

🐾 Maintain an up-to-date list of our current volunteers

🐾 Make sure volunteers have meaningful jobs and know where their help is needed

🐾 Check in with volunteers and help keep people involved, supported and connected

🐾 Work with the KCH team to identify areas where additional help is needed

💙 THIS ROLE CAN BE SHARED!

If this sounds like more than you can take on alone, grab a friend! We are absolutely open to having two people work together and share the Volunteer Coordinator role.

You don’t need rescue experience. We’re looking for someone who is organized, friendly, dependable and comfortable communicating with people.

Our volunteers are the heart of Keeping Cats Homed. We need someone who can help us find those wonderful people, get them involved and make sure they know just how valuable they are.

⚠️ We need to fill this role as soon as possible. The future of KCH depends on having enough volunteers to share the workload and keep our rescue running.

If you think you might be the person — or people — we’re looking for, please reach out. Even if you’re not quite sure, we’d be happy to chat about what the role involves.

🎉 2026 KEEPING CATS HOMED ONLINE SILENT AUCTION 🎉

It’s almost time for Keeping Cats Homed’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and we need our amazing community to help make our 2026 Online Silent Auction another huge success!

Our auction will run open on November 13th and close at 6pm sharp on November 20.

🐱 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of organizing and running the auction.

Whether you have lots of time to give or can only help with one small part, we would love to hear from you!

This fundraiser is incredibly important to KCH. The money raised allows us to continue the work we do every day to make life better for kittens and young cats across PEI. ❤️

Our auctions have been so successful in past years because of the wonderful people who step forward to help — and we simply can’t do it without you!

🐾 THERE IS NEVER A REASON TO THROW KITTENS FROM A CAR! 💔

Keeping Cats Homed (KCH) is deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent RCMP press release regarding two kittens who were thrown from a moving vehicle.

We want to send a very clear message to our community:

If you have kittens you cannot keep, PLEASE reach out for help. There is absolutely no need to abandon them, throw them from a vehicle, or cause them harm.

Keeping Cats Homed is here to help. We can take in unwanted kittens and provide them with the care, love, veterinary attention, and safe foster homes they deserve while we work to find them loving forever homes.

We understand that circumstances change. Sometimes people find themselves with unexpected litters, financial difficulties, or situations where they simply cannot care for their animals. We are not here to judge you for asking for help.

But there is NEVER an excuse for intentionally harming an innocent animal.

These tiny lives depend on us to protect them. They feel pain, fear, and suffering, just as any living creature does.

If you have kittens you cannot care for, please contact Keeping Cats Homed through our page. If we cannot accommodate them immediately, we will do our best to help you find a safe solution.
