A true legend has sadly crossed into that wonderful puppy paradise in sky. Patrick, we really don’t know where to begin but to say that everyone at BTH is completely devastated to hear of your passing is an understatement.

You will forever be missed and never forgotten.
The right words to describe you- impossible to find and nothing seems right but here we go.

Patrick you will always be one of the greatest dogs that walked through our doors so many years ago. A best friend is what you always were to every single person, dog and any other creature you could possibly think of. The happiest boy no matter what, just radiating with love ready to share it with the world ❤️

As you got older you may have started to slow down and fail you, but your spirit never did - a forever puppy at heart. Your big lumbering cowboy-style walk with the sway of your tail was your unwavering style and it suited you so well my friend.

Rest easy Patrick. Our tears will flow when we think of you for years to come, the hole in our hearts will remain indefinitely but don’t worry we will be okay. You are no longer in any pain and there is no doubt in our minds that you were greeted by so many of your friends. Live your best life up in that paradise, buddy. You deserve the absolute best.

To our Sassy Beloved One Eyed Pirate Queen

Lola you were such a unique soul, one of the best we have ever had the honour of coming across. We are so saddened to hear of your passing. You lived such a long and beautiful life that it is okay that your time with us had to come to an end, no matter how much it hurts and how much you are missed we know that you are resting peacefully now with big your brother Zeus.

Your devotion to finding any possible food scrap or crumb lingering on the floor was never-ending— that nose of yours never let you down and nothing was going to get in your way lol.

Your love was so fierce, if given the opportunity we would have soaked up all of it forever with our smiles growing bigger by the minute and our hearts would be bursting with happiness.

We will never forget you Lola, nor can you ever be replaced. You will always have a special place in our hearts till the end of time, and not a day will go by that you are not thought about.

Rest in peace you beautiful beagle!

Meet Vinny!

Vinny is a 7 month old lab cross, and currently weighs 60 lbs. Vinny is a very loving boy that loves and seeks affection any chance he can get. He loves cuddles, kisses, and positive reinforcement.

Vinny currently has a 5 year old sister who is a pitbull cross who he loves very much. They constantly wrestle, play, chase each other, and love to sit side-by-side constantly. He has not shown any signs of aggression towards other dogs, or humans, but has yet to interact one-on-one with any dogs except for his sister Veya.

Vinny is an active boy while living with a friend, but we have noticed in routine and practice that he is very calm & lazy when alone with limited distractions or noises. If you are looking for a new addition to your family that is a little less active and busy, Vinny would do best being the only dog in the family. He requires a good amount of walks and would do well with daily interaction with friends and family, if you wish. He also has a pet bunny named Arlo at home who he adores, and has never shown aggression towards.

Vinny just went on his first camping trip and did phenomenal. He was let off the leash and was in the lake all day playing and running. After playing in the water he chilled out quickly on the dock, and had no behavioural issues like anxiety or hyperactivity. Vinny loves his kennel on his own time, but has never been locked in alone for long periods of time. He does very well being left alone in a bigger environment with optimal floor space, toys, treats, and minimal noise.

He is fully house trained with no accidents or damages, but with any 7 month old pup, he will still need some basic training and correction from time to time. He loves all people, including kids, but because of his age and size he still uses his mouth or teeth for affection from time to time. We believe he would do well with older children or adults due to this, but again, he gets along well with any kids.

As his foster family, we love him very much, but due to our busy lifestyle, we don’t always have the time to give to keep him permanently. Our wish is that he finds his forever home who has the love & time to give him.

Vinny is also listed for adoption on https://www.hartrescue.ca/adopt/, though he is under the name “Gus” due to their alphabetical listing policy. Upon meeting him, the family decided that “Vinny” suited his personality better, and it stuck from there. He responds to that name, and we ask that Vinny keeps his name when moving into his forever home.
