Dog of the day: Charlie

Six months old. First time ever handling wild game.

A lot of young dogs freeze, back off, or try to eat it.

Beaumont picked it up like he'd been doing it his whole life and brought it straight back to Chris.

To be fair, Chris did the hard part before they even got here.

This golden retriever puppy arrived with a retrieve most trainers would be happy with at a year old.

This weekend was his introduction to wild game. He's officially a gundog-in-training, and we're officially excited.

Welcome to the club, Chris and Beaumont.

This dude's a natural.

Out for an early morning hunt with Scotch, my cocker spaniel… can you see her?

We help spaniels and retrievers hunt ducks in the morning, pheasants in the afternoon, and relax by the fire in the evening

And then he showed off his muscles on the agility course

It was a privilege to be asked to judge the limit stake at the South Western Spaniel Clubs fall field trial this past weekend.

Was great to see some friends and familiar faces. I even brought Scotch my cocker spaniel along for the experience :)

Dog of the Day: Walter

This guy was a little rusty as his owners had been away for a while but he showed up to the Refresher Club and his training kicked in!

Great job Walter

Dog of the Day: Smudge

Today's title goes to the most distinguished dog in class — Smudge.

He's the oldest guy in the group, and it shows in the best way. While the younger dogs were bouncing off the walls, Smudge carried himself with a calm, composed confidence that made him the most refined, gentlemanly dog we've worked with in a long time.

Sometimes age brings wisdom, and Smudge proved it today. Great work, sir.
