A lifetime of memories. ❤️

On World Pet Memorial Day, we honour the companions who left paw prints on our hearts and changed our lives forever.

The memories may seem small in the moment — the way they greeted us, the places they followed us, the routines we shared, the comfort they brought. Yet somehow, those are often the memories we hold onto most tightly after goodbye.

Today, we invite you to take a moment to remember your beloved pet.

Tell us about them in the comments, share a favourite photo, or simply hold space in your heart for the love you shared.

Because while their time with us is never long enough, their impact lasts a lifetime.

❤️ Honouring the bond, the life, and the love.

in honour of a faithful Boxer named Diesel

My husband and I adopted Diesel when he was a year old. He had already been through 2 owners and had spent months at the shelter where he was frightened and losing weight. He was skin and bones when we took him in, and had severe separation anxiety. Luckily I worked from home and for 10 years we happily spent every minute of every day together.

We helped heal each other and forged an unbreakable bond. 💙

All dogs are sweet, but this boy was just a bundle of love. Even though he was a large boxer, he thought of himself as a small lap dog and would crawl into our laps for cuddles. He had an adorable habit of licking the air in front of your face if he liked you (which was everybody). And he would do so for as long as you’d let him. He was playful and loved to “box” with us, pawing at us and bouncing around. He would nibble our ears ever so gently which would send us all into hysterical laughter.

We miss him so much it hurts. But we’re also so grateful for the beautiful time we had together. Shortly after he passed I had a dream of him, he was looking at me with his big brown eyes and wiggling his bum and wagging his little nubbin tail, and I knew he was ok and safe. 🌈

"I wish I had realized sooner that my pet was hurting."

💔 It's something many pet families say after learning more about the subtle ways pets can show pain & discomfort.

Many pet families assume that slowing down is simply a normal part of aging.

And while aging certainly brings changes, difficulty getting up, slipping on floors, avoiding stairs, sleeping more, or losing interest in favourite activities can all be signs of chronic or even subtle pain.

🐾 The challenge is that these changes often happen gradually. What starts as a small hesitation before standing, or only having the energy for a shorter walk, can slowly become their new normal.

🤍 If you've been wondering whether your pet may be experiencing pain, we offer several free pain scale resources that can help you better understand what to look for and how to assess your pet's comfort at home.

in honour of the fluffy kitty Molson 💙 🌈

Molson was an unexpected addition to our home when my husband’s boss arrived at the office with three kittens in a cardboard box. Two already had a home and the one left decided my husband would be his human.

He was the sweetest little kitten who looked electrified and always had a lot to say.

Molson had a mischievous streak and wasn’t afraid to give you the business when he felt you deserved it. He was often on tables, under the Christmas tree unwrapping gifts or behind the television. As he got older he loved sitting outside in the sun with us on our deck to watch the birds and squirrels.

Very little changed when our first daughter was born. He accepted her as part of the family but he still much preferred my husband.

He had slowed down considerably when our youngest was born but was still adamant that he was the most important in the house. We often joked he was more like a dog than a cat because he would lay in the middle of the floor amongst everyone. If he wasn’t with us, he was on my daughter’s bed hidden amongst her stuffed animals.

We were so lucky to have him for almost 19 years.
His presence is missed in our home, but he’ll live in our hearts forever. 💙

Molson is deeply loved and missed by Kristen, Kevin, Jordan & Finley

🏠🚐 Not every family can get to the clinic easily… and not every pet should have to.

Some dogs love the car.
Many don’t.

Some families don’t drive.
Others live in rural areas, far from their veterinary clinic.

And sometimes… the place that feels most right isn’t a clinic at all.

Maybe:
It’s the cottage they’ve always loved.
The farm they’ve spent years protecting.
The backyard where they feel safest.

In a single day, we might travel from a city street to a quiet farmhouse, to a lakeside home filled with memories. That’s the beauty of peaceful goodbyes in-home … we come to you. So your pet can remain in a familiar space, surrounded by comfort, and by the people who love them most. 💙🐾

Every family is different. And every goodbye should be, too. 🤍

💜 ~ Thoughtful Thursday ~ 💜

It truly means so much when families notice the small touches. 🐾💐

Our blankets, the pillow, the use of flowers… each one is chosen with care and intention.

We often think about what we would want for our own pets, and how we can bring that same level of thoughtfulness into each and every goodbye. Our hope is to make a difficult day feel just a little bit softer… and a little more gentle.

Thank you, Yasmine, for sharing your experience and for trusting us with your beautiful girl, Rosie. 🐾🤍
