Stratford Perth Humane Society The SPHS provides a safe refuge for the stray, unwanted and neglected animals in our community. We are a registered charity and receive no government funding.

The Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society and Stratford Perth Humane Society have long standing histories of serving people and pets in their communities. In 2012, the two organizations joined to become one of Ontario's largest animal welfare charities. Today, they are known as The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth, which operate animal centres in Kitchener and Stratford. Together, they service the areas of Kitchener, Waterloo, Wilmot, Woolwich, Wellesley, Stratford and Perth County. The humane society also helps animals outside of these areas, as time and resources allow. The humane society is self-funded and self-governed. Outside of contracts for animal services, they receive no government funding. Instead, they rely on the generosity of donors to help animals within their communities and to provide animal welfare focused education and outreach. MISSION
We are leaders in animal welfare in our communities, focusing on the responsible treatment of animals through education, compliance, advocacy and care. VISION

Meet Atlas!

This distinguished grey gentleman is ready to trade his adventuring days for cozy naps, playtime, and a loving family to call his own. 💙

Atlas loves pets and spending time with his people, though he prefers keeping all four paws on the ground rather than being picked up. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side shines through! He can be a little skittish around loud noises and sudden movements, so he’ll appreciate a calm home where he can settle in at his own pace.

A few things to know about Atlas:
- Loves affection on his own terms
- Enjoys evening playtime and his collection of toys
- Prefers a calm, loving environment
- Loves being around his people and may even snuggle up with you at bedtime!

If you have room in your home for a sweet senior gentleman, Atlas would love to meet you!

Atlas is currently in foster care, so please contact our Kitchener Centre to arrange a meet-and-greet or visit kwsphumane.ca/adopt/cats

Meet Shawty!

This sweet girl is all about affection! Once she feels comfortable with you, Shawty’s playful personality shines, and she’ll happily soak up all the love you have to give.

Shawty can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments, so she’ll need a patient family to help her build confidence at her own pace. As a high-energy girl, she’ll also thrive with daily exercise, enrichment, and ongoing positive-reinforcement training.

A few things to know:
- Loves affection once she’s comfortable
- High energy and ready for adventures
- Best suited for a home with older children who have dog experience
- May be compatible with other dogs with proper introductions
- Needs a home without cats or small animals

With patience, encouragement, and lots of love, Shawty has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion! ❤️

Could you be the one she’s been waiting for?

Meet Gerdie!

This sweet senior lady is looking for a loving home to enjoy her golden years!

Gerdie has all the classic hound-dog charm, from her curious nose and love of exploring to a voice she's not afraid to use! She enjoys following interesting scents and discovering the world around her, so she'll need a family who understands her hound instincts and can help keep her mind engaged.

At a lower energy level, Gerdie would love a home where she can enjoy daily walks, sniff-filled adventures, and plenty of cozy downtime. She's still working on her leash manners, so a little patience and positive reinforcement will go a long way!

Gerdie's ideal home:
- Older, patient children with dog experience.
- No cats or small animals due to her prey drive.
- Potentially a calm canine companion, with slow introductions.
- A family ready to give a senior girl the love and comfort she deserves.

First-time dog owners may be a good match for Gerdie, too! She's a lovely lady with plenty of personality, and she's ready to find someone who appreciates her for exactly who she is.

Could Gerdie be your perfect match?
