Hearts4Paws Senior Cat Rescue

Hearts4Paws Senior Cat Rescue EST 2019 - Hearts4Paws is a non-profit, 100% volunteer run, foster based senior cat rescue based in Stratford, Ontario. Any donations are appreciated.

Donations can be made by etransfer to [email protected] Thank you for your support. Our love for animals inspires us to provide assistance in rehoming cats in emergency situations - in particular, senior cats at risk of euthanasia due to impending homelessness. We have rehomed and adopted out over 175 cats since 2019, many whom have come to us due to an owner's declining health, move

to a long term care facility or sudden passing. We are partnered with the Alley Cat Cafe and Feedall Pet Centre where many of our cats where successfully adopted out to their forever homes. Including individual foster homes when available. All the cats that come through our rescue receive a wellness exam, up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter and medical care if required. Our small adoption fees only cover a fraction of our expenses so we rely on the generous donations from our community. Many of the cats have received little to no vet care. So in the event of emergencies we like to have some funds available. Donations can be made the following ways:

❤️ Bridgette Update ❤️

We're so happy to share that Bridgette continues to make wonderful progress! Every day she's getting a little stronger, a little healthier, and showing more of her sweet personality.

In a few weeks, she'll be heading back to the vet for follow-up bloodwork to make sure everything continues moving in the right direction. We're hopeful her results will reflect just how far she's come.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Bridgette with your donations, prayers, kind words, and encouragement. Your love has truly been part of her healing journey, and we couldn't be more grateful. ❤️🐾

❤️ Bridgette's Next Chapter is Almost Here... ❤️

Not long ago, we were simply hoping Bridgette would pull through.

Today, we're celebrating every little victory as she gets stronger, healthier, and more like herself each day. She still has a little healing to do, but her personality is shining brighter all the time, and it's been such a joy to watch.

Once Bridgette has fully recovered, receives a clean bill of health from our veterinarian, and is up to date on all of her vaccinations, she'll be ready to start the next chapter of her life—with a forever family to call her own.

Her wonderful foster mom has had the chance to get to know the real Bridgette, and here's what she has to say:

🐾 She's a perfect litter box user—clean, tidy, and never makes a mess.

🐾 She's quite the little conversationalist and will greet you at the door as if she's excited to tell you all about her day.

🐾 Her big, beautiful eyes have a way of looking right into your heart.

🐾 She's a champion purr machine. The tiniest bit of love, and her little motor starts rumbling.

🐾 She's a total love sponge who simply wants to be close to her people.

🐾 She's okay with being picked up, but she'd rather keep her paws on the ground for now. As she continues to heal and build confidence, that may change.

🐾 Belly rubs? Yes, please! And don't worry... it's not a trap. 😉

🐾 She isn't much of a lap cat at the moment, but she'll happily follow you from room to room, content just being close to the person she loves.

🐾 She's a gorgeous little black cat with just a tiny sprinkle of white hairs on her chest—her own unique little trademark.

After everything Bridgette has been through, we think she'd be happiest in a calm, quieter home where she can continue to blossom. We'd especially love to see her with someone who's home often or works from home—someone who appreciates having a sweet little companion quietly by their side.

We'll be asking potential adopters to meet Bridgette before any adoption takes place because this isn't just about finding a home—it's about finding her forever home.

When we look at Bridgette now, it's hard to believe how far she's come. There were moments when we didn't know what the outcome would be, but she never stopped fighting.

We're so incredibly grateful to her amazing foster mom, our veterinary team, and every single person who donated, shared her story, sent kind messages, and kept her in their thoughts. You have all been part of Bridgette's journey back to health.

The person who adopts Bridgette won't just be bringing home a cat.

They'll be welcoming a gentle, resilient little soul who has experienced heartbreak, learned to trust again, and still has so much love to give.

We truly believe that the lucky person who opens their heart to Bridgette won't just be changing her life...

Bridgette will quietly change theirs, too. ❤️

❤️ Bridgette Update ❤️

We have some wonderful news to share!

Bridgette is now well hydrated thanks to her regular Sub-Q fluids given by Jen of PAWS Pet Sitting - Stratford Ontario, and her amazing foster mom has started weaning her off syringe feedings. The best part? She's eating and drinking all on her own! 🥹

Today's photo says it all... a pretty much empty food bowl has never looked so beautiful. Every bite she takes feels like another little step toward healing.

And then came the moment that had us all celebrating far more than any group of adults probably should... Bridgette had her first p**p! 💩😂

It's funny what becomes exciting when you're caring for a sick animal, but after everything she's been through, that tiny milestone meant her little body was finally starting to work the way it should again. We were genuinely cheering her on!

Every day she's getting a little stronger, a little brighter, and showing us more of the sweet girl we've all fallen in love with.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared her story, sent kind messages, and kept Bridgette in your thoughts. Your support has given her the chance she so deserved, and we couldn't be more grateful.

We'll keep you updated as our brave little girl continues her journey. ❤️🐾

❤️ Bridgette Update - Saturday June 27, 2026❤️

Look who's decided she likes being the centre of attention! 🖤✨

Over the last few days, Bridgette has had so many people cheering her on, and we think she's finally starting to realize just how loved she is. Between all the gentle pets, encouraging words, and endless cuddles from her amazing foster mom, she's been soaking up every bit of the attention... and purring up an absolute storm. 💕

Seeing and hearing that purr is something we weren't sure we'd get to experience just a few days ago, so every little moment feels incredibly special.

She's still on her road to recovery, and we know there are more good days and tougher days ahead, but these small victories remind us why we never give up. Watching her relax, lean into the love, and simply enjoy being cared for has filled our hearts with hope.

We've included some new photos and a little video so you can see for yourselves. We think someone is getting quite comfortable in the spotlight... and honestly, we don't mind one bit. 🥰

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated, shared her story, sent prayers, and kept Bridgette in your thoughts. Your kindness has helped make this care possible, and we truly couldn't do it without you.

Please keep this sweet girl in your prayers as she continues to heal. One purr, one cuddle, and one day at a time. ❤️🐾

If you'd like to help support Bridgette's ongoing veterinary care, donations can be sent to [email protected]. Every dollar goes directly toward helping her continue her recovery.

❤️ Happy Friday Update on Bridgette ❤️

We wanted to share some encouraging news!

Bridgette had her Sub-Q fluids today and is continuing to show small but meaningful signs of improvement. She's starting to eat on her own, and for the first time, we even caught her grooming herself after eating, a wonderful sign that she's beginning to feel a little more like herself.

We've included a couple of new photos, a video of her eating independently, and another of her grooming afterward. Every little milestone gives us more hope.

Her amazing foster mom, Rachelle, is showering her with love, patience, and around-the-clock care, and we're incredibly grateful for everything she's doing to help Bridgette heal.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Gillies at Romeo Pet Hospital for the exceptional care and guidance she has provided. We also want to thank Jen from PAWS Pet Sitting - Stratford Ontario for helping with Bridgette's Sub-Q fluids today, and April from Axel's Imprint Rescue and Sanctuary - Cats for being there last night and helping with syringe feeding. It truly takes a village, and we're so grateful for each of you and your compassion during this difficult time.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Bridgette's story, sent prayers, and kept this sweet girl in your thoughts. Your kindness is making a real difference, and we'll continue to keep you updated on her journey. ❤️

❤️ Please Keep Bridgette in Your Thoughts ❤️

Note: I did have her name spelt wrong in the other posts.

Today has been a very difficult day for sweet Bridgette.

She is receiving the care she needs, and we've done everything we can to give her the best chance possible. Right now, we're entering what will likely be the most critical part of her journey. The next 24 hours or so will tell us a great deal, and we are praying with all our hearts that we were able to help her in time.

Bridgette is a fighter, and she's surrounded by so much love. We're incredibly grateful to our veterinary team, her amazing foster mom, and every one of you who has donated, shared her story, or sent kind words and prayers. Because of your generosity, Bridgette was able to receive the care she desperately needed when she needed it most.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Bridgette's journey so far. Your kindness has helped us get to this point. Her veterinary bills are now approaching $1,000, and they may continue to grow depending on what the next couple of days bring.

Right now, we're taking things one hour at a time and hoping to see small signs that she's beginning to turn the corner.

Please continue to keep Bridgette in your thoughts tonight. She has touched so many hearts in such a short time, and we know she can feel the love surrounding her.

We'll keep everyone updated as soon as we know more.

❤️ Thank you for standing with Bridgette.
