Stoughton Veterinary Services is a small and large animal practice providing hospital and ambulatory services. We provide services for prevention of diseases, maintenance of health including nutrition, detection and treatment of diseases and medical, surgical and dental care as needed. All animals are important to us and we understand the important role they have in your lives. We strive to provide the best care possible in a timely, compassionate manner and provide client education whenever possible. We provide services by appointment and we are available for after hour emergencies by a 24 hour answering service. Stoughton Veterinary Services is one of the few veterinary clinics in Saskatchewan that is still part of a Veterinary Service District. We belong to the Stoughton and District Veterinary Service Board. The board is made up of a representative from the four local surrounding Rural Municipalities: Tecumseh #65, Griffin #66, Golden West #95, and Fillmore #96. This week, we’re celebrating our four amazing veterinary technicians at Stoughton Veterinary Services! Our technicians are an integral part of our medical team, providing essential support, compassionate care, and expertise to help keep your pets healthy and happy.

Get to know the incredible team behind the care!

🐶 Sarah Richaud
With 18 years of experience as a veterinary technician, Sarah has been part of the SVS team for just over 15 years! She’s our resident nutrition enthusiast and the go-to technician for patients who need a little extra patience, understanding, and a special touch.

🐴 Emily Dayman-Bourhis
Emily has been a veterinary technician for 10 years, all of which she has spent with SVS! She especially enjoys working with our large animal patients and has earned the nickname “encyclopedia” for her wealth of knowledge. She’s also our trusted second set of eyes when it comes to reviewing cytology slides!

🩺 Kamryn Friars
Kamryn has been a veterinary technician for six years, all with SVS! She takes pride in keeping our surgical instruments clean, properly wrapped, and sterilized, ensuring everything is ready for the next procedure. And if there’s a Netflix show playing in the background, even better!

💉 Kylee Dixon
With four years of experience as a veterinary technician, Kylee joined the SVS team just over a year ago. She loves being in surgery, helping ensure every procedure runs smoothly from start to finish and that our patients receive the best possible care.

Our veterinary technicians bring knowledge, dedication, compassion, and a little bit of personality to everything they do. We’re incredibly grateful for all their hard work and the difference they make for our patients, clients, and team every day.

NOW HIRING:

Stoughton Veterinary Services is looking for a professional and friendly general clinic assistant. This position will involve covering and helping in a lot of different aspects of the hospital. The primary focus of this position will be daily cleaning, maintaining the flow of appointments and stepping into reception duties when extra support is needed elsewhere.

Qualifications & Skills
• Previous administrative or secretarial experience is considered an asset, but is not mandatory.
• Comfortable handling and interacting with animals of various sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Professional, compassionate, and dependable approach to client and patient care.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Helping maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming hospital environment.
• Updating client and patient records during check-in.
• Admitting and weighing patients prior to appointments.
• Scribing and assisting the veterinary team during appointments.
• Directing client questions and communicating information to appropriate staff members.
• Assisting clients with over-the-counter product sales.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Answering and directing telephone calls.
• Assisting with general administrative duties.
• Running errands and assisting with other day-to-day clinic needs as required.

Compensation & Benefits:
Wage will be dependent on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.

Health benefits and an RRSP program are offered.

Hours Required:
Tuesday – Friday: 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

We are now taking names and numbers for our barn cat days!

Main day for both male and female will be October 15, with the over flow for females on October 22.

As always priority will be given to existing clients with accounts up to date. Once we have enough cats we will contact you with drop off times.
