🐾 DAY 24 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Luddi! 🧡

This handsome brindle boy is Luddi, a 2.5-year-old Pit Bull mix with the sweetest face and a personality that's impossible not to love!

Luddi was adopted from a rescue and is described by his family as a sweet, goofy boy. And after seeing these photos, I think it's safe to say that description fits him perfectly!

He knows how to sit and give his paw, although he's figured out that his paw is also a pretty effective way to demand pets and snacks.

He loves all kinds of toys, but there's one that's extra special to him: his Lamb Chop stuffy! 🥹❤️ And can we just talk about how adorable those photos are?!

Of course, Luddi also showed off his modelling skills with some sunglasses and a bright yellow hat. Seriously, how cute is this boy?!

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Reminder: Rescue dogs have so much love to give.

Dogs like Luddi are a beautiful reminder of why rescue and adoption matter.

So many Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes find themselves in shelters and rescues, sometimes waiting longer for homes simply because of how they look or the breed label attached to them.

But behind those labels are individual dogs with their own personalities, favourite toys, silly habits, and so much love to share.

Luddi isn't just a Pit Bull mix. He's a beloved family member, a professional snack demander, and a boy who loves to cuddle his Lamb Chop. ❤️

And that's exactly what this month is about. Looking beyond the stereotypes and getting to know the dogs themselves.

🐾 DAY 23 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Simba! 🧡

This handsome boy is a Pit Bull & Shepherd mix, and he's got the personality to match that big, beautiful smile! 😍

Simba is playful, energetic, and full of life! And judging by these photos, he's also got a pretty impressive modelling career ahead of him. 😂

I mean, the smiles, the goofy expressions, the sunglasses AND the flower crown?! This boy understood the assignment! 🌸😎

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Reminder:

Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes are so much more than the stereotypes that surround them.

They're goofy, playful, energetic, affectionate, and full of personality. Some are couch potatoes, some are adventure buddies, and some, like Simba, seem pretty happy to be the centre of attention!

One of the biggest things I hope people take away from this month is that a dog's breed doesn't tell you everything about who they are.

Every dog has their own personality, their own quirks, and their own story. They deserve the opportunity to show us who they are before we make assumptions about them.

And if Simba's photos don't make you smile, I don't know what will! 🥹🧡

🐾 DAY 22 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Zoey! 🖤

This beautiful girl is a Pit Bull cross, approximately 3 years old, and a shelter rescue who has found her way into a loving home. ❤️

Zoey is described as goofy, incredibly lovable, and a little shy when meeting new people. But give her a little time to get comfortable, and her sweet, silly personality starts to shine through!

Her favourite things? Pretty much ANY treat and ALL the toys! 😂🐾

And can we talk about that smile?! 😍 Once Zoey started getting comfortable in front of my camera, we got to see that big, happy grin!

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Reminder:

Not every dog is going to run up to a stranger with a wagging tail and a million kisses, and that's okay!

Some dogs need a little extra time, patience, and space to feel comfortable. Being nervous or unsure doesn't make a dog unfriendly or aggressive. It simply means they need a chance to build trust.

This is especially important when it comes to breeds that are already so often misunderstood. Every dog deserves to be seen as an individual, not judged by their appearance or breed.

Zoey is a beautiful reminder of why giving shelter dogs a second chance is so important. ❤️

🐾 DAY 21 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Olive! 🩷

This gorgeous Staffordshire Terrier is almost 5 years old, and she's got the personality to match that adorable face!

Playful, energetic, and just the right amount of goofy, Olive is a girl who knows how to have fun! Her favourite things? ALL the treats and anything that squeaks! 😂🐾

And can we PLEASE talk about those pink sunglasses?! 😎💕 I think Olive might have a future in modelling!

Behind those big, muscular bodies and sometimes intimidating appearances are dogs with the same silly personalities, playful spirits, and love for their families as any other breed.

Dogs like Olive are a wonderful reminder that a dog's breed doesn't tell you everything about who they are. ❤️

EXCUSE ME, but can we talk about how ridiculously adorable this is?! 🤣🐾

Okay, so I finally decided to try out these heart-shaped glasses during a pet portrait session for the very first time...

And let me tell you, THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! 😂❤️

The attitude. The poses. The little head tilts. The absolute confidence this pup was serving in these glasses. I CANNOT! 😍

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what these glasses were made for, and now I'm questioning why it took me so long to bring them into the studio!

One of my favourite things about pet photography is getting to have a little fun and let each pup's personality shine through. Sometimes that means beautiful, classic portraits, and sometimes it means putting on a pair of ridiculous heart-shaped glasses and creating absolute masterpieces. 🤣

I think it's safe to say these glasses will be making MANY more appearances in the studio.

Now I need to know... would your dog rock these glasses, or would they give you the biggest side-eye of your life? 😂👇

🐾 DAY 20 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Maya! 🖤

This beautiful Staffy/Doberman mix was the last puppy left from a friend's unexpected litter, and she ended up exactly where she belonged! ❤️

Maya is a little shy and sometimes anxious, but don't let that fool you! This girl LOVES to run, especially at the dog park!

Her absolute favourite toy is a squeaky, spiky ball, and apparently she's gone through about TEN of them over the years! 😂🎾

She's also one smart girl! She knows sit, stay, paw, and my personal favourite, "through," where she comes and sits between her person's legs! 🥹

And can we talk about that adorable little grey face?! 😍

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Reminder: Not every pit bull is outgoing, confident, or fearless.

Just like people, dogs have their own personalities. Some are social butterflies, while others need a little more patience, reassurance, and space to feel comfortable.

Being shy or anxious doesn't make a dog any less deserving of love. ❤️

🐾 DAY 19 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Fendi! 🎀❤️

This gorgeous 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix has a story that reminds us just how important second chances really are.

Before finding her forever home, Fendi had been returned to the Humane Society TWICE by two different families. 💔

But on March 24, 2026, everything changed when she finally found the family she was meant to be with! ❤️

And let me tell you, this girl has SO much love to give!

Fendi is described as the sweetest girl in the world, an absolute KISSING MACHINE who apparently hasn't figured out when enough kisses are enough! 😂

Her favourite thing in the world? CHILDREN! 🥹❤️ She absolutely adores her human brothers, and her favourite toys just happen to be their stuffed animals!

She's also one smart cookie! She knows sit, shake a paw, high five, and lie down. She's generally calm and loving, but definitely has a goofy, playful side!

And can we PLEASE talk about that pink bow?! 🎀😍

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Message: Being returned doesn't mean a dog is broken.

Fendi's story is such an important reminder that sometimes a dog simply hasn't found the right home yet.

Being returned doesn't mean they're a bad dog, unlovable, or undeserving of another chance.

For dogs labelled as pit bulls, who already face so many unfair stereotypes and barriers to adoption, those second chances can mean everything.

Today, Fendi is surrounded by love, stealing stuffed animals, handing out unlimited kisses, and living the life she deserves. ❤️

🐾 DAY 18 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Ellie! ❤️

This beautiful 9-year-old Pit Bull/Shar-Pei mix is a certified girlie girl, a professional belly rub enthusiast, and quite possibly the cutest little model! 🥹

Ellie was adopted from SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society) in December 2017, and she's been living her best life ever since!

Her family describes her as a low-energy girl who loves two things more than anything: people and FOOD! 😂

And here's a fun little fact about Ellie...

She can't catch a treat tossed directly to her, but she CAN catch a fly mid-flight! 🤣 Apparently, those reflexes only kick in when snacks aren't involved!

Ellie is all about the simple pleasures in life. Good food, lots of love, belly rubs, and making everyone around her smile.

And can we just appreciate how beautiful she looks in her flower crown and pearls?! 😍 This girl understood the assignment!

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Message: Senior dogs deserve just as much love.

One of the things I wish more people understood about pit bulls is just how wonderful they can be as they get older.

While the stereotypes often portray these dogs as intimidating or overly energetic, there are so many pitties like Ellie who would happily trade a wild adventure for a cozy spot on the couch, a good belly rub, and some quality time with their favourite humans.

Senior dogs have so much love left to give, and they deserve to spend their golden years feeling safe, comfortable, and absolutely adored.

Age doesn't make a dog any less deserving of love, and breed doesn't determine the kind of companion they'll be.

Ellie is a beautiful reminder that behind every breed label is an individual dog with their own personality, quirks, and so much love to offer. ❤️

🐾 DAY 17 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Halo Diesel! 🖤

This beautiful girl is a 6-year-old Blue Nose/American Pit Bull with the sweetest face, the biggest smile, and a story that deserves to be shared. ❤️

Halo didn't have the easiest start in life. She was rescued from a neglectful and abusive home, but thankfully, her story didn't end there.

Today, Halo is living a life filled with love, happiness, and all the things every dog deserves. 🥹

Her family describes her as goofy, playful, and VERY much your classic pittie! She's full of personality, loves her treats (especially duck jerky!), and when she's finally ready to settle down, she has a calm and relaxed side, too.

And can we just talk about that SMILE?! 😍

I think it's safe to say Halo was pretty happy to be in front of my camera, especially when the treats started coming out!

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Message: Their past does not define their future.

Unfortunately, dogs like Halo are often judged twice. First by the circumstances they came from, and then again simply because of their breed.

Pit bulls who have experienced neglect, abuse, or abandonment can face additional challenges finding loving homes because of the stereotypes surrounding them.

But a difficult past doesn't mean a dog is incapable of love, trust, or happiness.

With patience, understanding, proper care, and a safe environment, many dogs who have experienced hardship can go on to live wonderful lives.

Halo is a beautiful reminder that rescue dogs are so much more than the things they've been through.

They deserve to be seen for who they are today, not just where they came from or what they look like.

And looking at these photos, I hope you see what I see.

A beautiful, goofy, happy girl who is so incredibly deserving of the life she has now. ❤️

🐾 DAY 16 | PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Meet Cyan! 🧡

11 years young, a Pit Bull, and a professional at giving you those big, soulful puppy dog eyes that could melt just about anyone's heart. 🥹❤️

Cyan is described by her family as loving, emotional, sucky, and a little mopey. Basically, she's got ALL the feelings, and she's not afraid to show them. 😂

She's wonderful with people and other animals, and while she might be a little hesitant around cats and kids at first, her curiosity and friendly nature always shine through.

And then there's her one very special talent...

Cyan absolutely CANNOT catch. 😂

Throw her a treat, and there's a pretty good chance it's going to bounce right off her face. And after photographing her, I can confirm that her catching skills might need a little work! (Swipe to see the evidence! 🤣)

But honestly, who needs athletic abilities when you're this adorable?!

🐾 Today's Pit Bull Awareness Message: A dog's breed doesn't define their personality.

One of the biggest misconceptions about pit bulls is that they're all the same. That their appearance tells you everything you need to know about their temperament.

But dogs like Cyan remind us just how wrong that assumption can be.

Behind that strong, muscular appearance is an 11-year-old girl with a sensitive heart, a whole lot of love to give, and absolutely no coordination when it comes to catching snacks.

Some pit bulls are confident and outgoing. Others are shy, sensitive, or need a little extra reassurance. Some are adventurous, and others would much rather spend their days cuddled up with their favourite people.

Just like every other breed, pit bulls are individuals.

And that's exactly why I've dedicated October to sharing their faces, personalities, and stories.

Because the more we get to know the dogs behind the stereotypes, the harder it becomes to judge them by their appearance alone. ❤️
