💗 MEET FUSCHIA 💗

At 11.5 years old, Fuschia has lost the life she’s always known. This beautiful senior girl deserves a chance to spend her golden years feeling safe, secure, and loved. 🐾

Fuschia came into rescue with a severe UTI, which has thankfully been resolved with antibiotics. She is scheduled to be spayed, receive dental work, have a skin tag removed from her eyelid, and get caught up on her vaccines.

Now, we’re looking for something just as important as her medical care: a safe place for Fuschia to land. ❤️

Fuschia needs dog-savvy people who are confident and comfortable with larger dogs. She also needs to be the only animal in the home. She’s been through a lot of change, and she needs a gentle, patient, and reassuring environment where she can settle in at her own pace and learn that she’s safe.

🐱 She has lived with cats and a small elderly dog, generally ignoring them.

🏡 She is not suited to a home with small children or lots of stairs.

Fuschia is 11.5 years old. She shouldn’t have to spend this stage of her life wondering what comes next. She deserves soft places to rest, kind hands to comfort her, and people who will give her the time she needs to feel at home again.

Could you be the person who gives Fuschia her second chance?

Sometimes, rescue isn’t about finding a perfect dog. It’s about giving a dog who’s been through too much the chance to finally exhale.

Let’s find this girl the loving home she deserves. 💗🐾

📩 Interested in adopting Fuschia? Please reach out to Before The Bridge Senior K9 Rescue.

🩷 Meet Susie & Summer! 🩷

10-year-old bonded Papillon sisters looking for their forever home!

Some bonds are simply too special to break, and Susie and Summer are looking for a home where they can spend their golden years together. These two lovely 10-year-old Papillon sisters are ready for their happily ever after!

Susie, at 17 pounds, is the bigger sister, while little Summer weighs around 11 pounds. Together, they make the sweetest pair!

These girls are delightful, well-mannered, affectionate, and eager to please. They seem to understand what’s expected of them and are more than happy to cooperate with their people. They absolutely love cuddles and will happily snuggle up beside you for some quality time.

Susie and Summer enjoy the simple pleasures in life, including sunshine, outdoor adventures, walks, and car rides. ☀️ They get along well with other dogs and, once they learn where you want them to go, they settle into an outdoor potty routine.

At bedtime, these sisters cuddle up together in their large carrier and sleep peacefully through the night. Their carrier can even go with them to their new home!

They would love a home with a fenced yard where they can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors, along with a family who will give them regular walks, plenty of affection, and all the comforts they deserve.

At 10 years old, Susie and Summer still have so much love to give. They don’t need anything fancy — just a family who will cherish them, keep them together, and let them enjoy the good life side by side.

Two sisters, one special bond, and one forever home to call their own. Could it be yours? 🐾❤️

HOLY KIBBLE!! OUR VILLAGE SHOWED UP! 🐾❤️

Well, wow! We asked for help keeping our seniors fed, and you guys absolutely BLEW US AWAY!

A HUGE THANK YOU to K9 Advocacy for once again coming through with a car FULL of kibble for our senior dogs. This isn’t the first time they’ve stepped up for us, and they have consistently been there to help save the day when we need it most. We are so incredibly grateful to have them in our corner. ❤️

And to EVERYONE who ordered from our Amazon wishlist… WHAT. A. RESPONSE. 🤯📦

Our food bank volunteer’s doorstep was practically buried in Amazon boxes today! Seeing all those deliveries show up for our seniors is a pretty incredible reminder of just how much good can happen when a community comes together.

Every bag of kibble, every box delivered, and every person who shared our plea has helped take some of the pressure off and made sure our seniors have full bellies.

Senior dogs deserve full bowls, soft beds, and all the love in the world. Thanks to you, our village is helping us make that happen. 🐶❤️

From all of us at Before The Bridge Senior K9 Rescue, THANK YOU for showing up for our oldies. Thank you for caring, for giving, for sharing, and for being part of this little rescue village of ours.

We couldn’t do this without you, and we never want to take that support for granted.

Our village is pretty freaking amazing. 🐾❤️

🐾 MEET MOLLY! 🩷

Molly is a 10–13-year-old terrier mix with possibly a little Corgi in the mix, judging by those adorable short legs and sturdy little body!

This girl is an absolute cuddlebug who loves her people and isn’t afraid to ask for what she wants. Expect a little paw tap and some vocal reminders when it’s time for pets. Once Molly decides you’re her person, she’ll happily become your devoted little shadow. 🥰

Molly struggles with separation anxiety, but she’s made tremendous progress with consistency, routine, and learning that her people always come back. She’d do best in a home where someone works from home and can help her continue building confidence.

She’s also been working hard on her health! Molly came into rescue overweight and has made fantastic progress on a low-fat diet. She has a partially torn CCL, so her activity needs to stay low-impact, with jumping avoided. Her favourite outings are leisurely 20–30 minute sniffy walks at her own pace. No marathon training required here!

Molly is very food motivated, which makes working with her that much easier. She’s an affectionate, loving senior who has so much love left to give and would thrive with someone who appreciates the simple joys of a loyal companion, gentle walks, and plenty of couch cuddles.

🏡 Molly is looking for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and never wonder when her favourite human is coming back.

Could Molly be your new little shadow?

🐾 Meet Boots! 🐾

Boots is ready for her forever home!

At almost 20 lbs, this little girl may have short legs, but DON’T LET THEM FOOL YOU — SHE CAN JUMP! 😂 Her breed mix is anyone’s guess, but we see some Beagle/hound, Chihuahua, Shepherd and maybe Corgi or Dachshund in there. Whatever she is, she’s 100% adorable.

And Boots is a LOVER. Once she feels safe, she wants to be ON her person. Lap cuddles, belly rubs, kisses, couch snuggles — Boots wants it all. She is happiest when she’s beside her people and will happily follow you around like a little shadow.

At 1.5 years old, Boots can be nervous and unsure when meeting new people or experiencing new things. When she first arrived at her current foster home, she barked, hid beside the bathtub and needed time to decompress. Her foster gave her that time, and once she realized she was safe, she came around beautifully. She has been glued to her foster ever since.

She may be a little protective of her person, particularly around other dogs, but the initial growling and teeth-showing toward her foster’s dog disappeared once she settled in. She and foster sibling Marty now play together at least once or twice a day, and she has been great with other dogs she’s met on walks and in the yard. She may still get jealous when another dog gets attention and needs continued guidance around sharing her person and toys.

Boots has made huge progress with potty training. She hasn’t had an accident in the house in FOUR DAYS! 🎉 She is now giving signals when she needs to go out and sleeping through the night without accidents. She gets it — her family will just need to keep the routine going.

She’s a smart girl with basic manners. She knows her name, sits, responds to “no” and “stop,” waits for treats and toys, and is very gentle taking treats. She’s working on jumping up, leash manners and learning that the couch is by invitation only.

And this girl LOVES to play fetch. She brings the toy back and drops it for you like a pro. She’s athletic and energetic and would happily be your walking or hiking buddy, but she’s equally happy to curl up on your lap afterward.

Boots recently went for a nail trim and out on some errands and handled it well. She previously got carsick, but did fine on these shorter rides, so her foster suspects that may have been related to nerves and uncertainty.

She sleeps in her crate at night, has no destructive behaviour and is learning that her crate is a safe place. She can be vocal when startled by noises or people outside but settles fairly quickly.

Boots recently tested negative for heartworm and received her preventative on October 2. She is a little overweight at almost 20 lbs, but her vet was not concerned.

❤️ What Boots needs

Boots needs patience, consistency and effort.

She may not show you her true personality during the first meeting. She needs time to decompress and build trust, and an introduction away from her foster home would be best.

Give this girl a little time and you’ll discover a funny, affectionate, playful, cuddly little shadow who thinks her person is the greatest human on earth.

Boots is ready. Is her forever family out there? ❤️

Our food supply is getting LOW, and with a house full of rescue dogs, we go through a LOT of kibble.

So if you’ve ever looked at our Amazon wishlist and thought, “I could grab something for the dogs,” this is your sign. ❤️

🛒 Our Amazon Wishlist:
https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/1AGJJHDC00KPK?ref_=wl_share

Every bag helps keep our dogs fed and allows us to put more of our rescue funds toward the things that aren’t quite as easy to throw in an Amazon cart — vet bills, dentals, medications and all the other expensive senior-dog stuff.

Kibble is one of our biggest needs right now. If you can grab a bag, we would be incredibly grateful.

And since we have your attention…

HEY. LOOK AT THESE CUTE DOGS. 😂❤️

This is Tucker & Miss Roxy, and somehow these two are STILL AVAILABLE.

We have received zero applications for them.

ZERO.

Look at them.

They are literally snuggled up together looking like a commercial for “Reasons You Should Adopt A Rescue Dog.” 😂

So while you’re shopping for kibble, take another look at these two faces.

Feed the dogs. Adopt the dogs. Spoil the dogs.

We support all three. 🐾❤️

Thank you for keeping our rescue dogs fed, cared for and ridiculously spoiled.

Brownie has started an adoption trial Sept. 26/26

At 16 years young, Madame Brownie has earned every right to be a little fancy.

This lovely little lady is looking for a new home after her longtime companion could no longer care for her. And while Brownie may be a senior, don’t you dare let that number fool you. She’s still got plenty of life, love and personality left to share.

Brownie recently had a dental makeover and is pretty pleased with her fresh new smile. 😁 Like many older ladies, she’s also hard of hearing — but a good loud clap will get her attention, and she’ll come trotting over to see what’s happening.

These days, Brownie is all about the finer things in life: short, leisurely walks (heavy on the sniffing), car rides, cozy naps, pets, treats and keeping tabs on the neighbourhood.

She’s p*e-pad trained and is quick to take care of business when she heads outside, although she does enjoy a little garden exploration. In fact, Brownie has been caught conducting very important inspections of the tomato plants. 🍅

She currently lives happily with cats, foster kittens and another elderly dog.

Brownie is a quiet, sweet little companion who doesn’t need much — just someone who will appreciate her, keep her cozy, and give her the best second chapter a senior girl could ask for.

Because 16 isn’t the end of the story.

Sometimes, it’s just time for the best part. ❤️

Brownie is looking for her forever home.

Lena and Lizzie have started an Adoption Trial Sept. 20/ 26

Two girls. One forever home. DOUBLE THE LAGOTTO LOVE. 🥹

Lena (5) & Lizzie (4) are bonded Lagotto Romagnolos looking for a family to call their own — together, of course!

These girls are affectionate, playful, active and absolutely adore being with their people AND each other. They love walks, adventures and being outside, but thankfully they also have an OFF SWITCH. Once they’ve had their exercise and fun, they’re perfectly happy to curl up and relax. 💤

💕 Both girls love to cuddle
🐾 Good with their senior foster dog & cat
🏡 House trained
🚗 Great in the car
🎓 Know their names & basic commands
👋 Friendly with new people, but need a little time to warm up
🌳 A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus
🚶‍♀️ A couple of good walks a day would suit them, with plenty of potential for a more active lifestyle

A few things their future family should know:

Lizzie is still working on her leash manners and has improved tremendously in foster care. Both girls are also working on door manners — they can be tempted by an open door, so safety-first is the name of the game!

Lena is VERY enthusiastic about food and occasionally believes Lizzie’s dinner is actually her dinner. 😂 Mealtimes need a little supervision, and she can also be a bit of a toy hoarder, so sometimes separate playtime is easier.

They’re not excessive barkers, but they are excellent little security systems. Strange noise? UNFAMILIAR VOICE? They’ll let you know. Once they determine everything is fine, they settle right back down.

Lena & Lizzie are two lovely girls who have so much to offer. They’re fun when it’s time to have fun, cuddly when it’s time to cuddle, and happy to settle when the day is done.

Now they just need the people who will make TWO FOR ONE their favourite adoption decision ever. ❤️🐾

🏡 Lena & Lizzie MUST be adopted together.

Okay, friends… IT’S HERE. 🐾✨

After a whole lot of work behind the scenes, Before The Bridge Senior K9 Rescue officially has a brand-new home on the internet!

And when we say brand-new, we mean BRAND. NEW. 😂

Our website has had a complete makeover, and we could not be more excited for you to see it.

You can explore our adoptable dogs, learn more about fostering, meet some of our permanent fosters, read our rescue stories, find out how you can help, and get a better look at what Before The Bridge is all about.

But there is one VERY important person we need to thank.

💗 MADISON. 💗

Madison generously volunteered her time, talent, creativity and expertise to completely transform our website.

She didn’t just give us a pretty new website. She took the time to understand who we are, what we do, and why these dogs matter — and turned that into something we’re incredibly proud to share with you.

And she did it all because she believes in what we do and wanted to help.

Madison, we cannot thank you enough. ❤️

So please join us in giving her the biggest BTB THANK YOU possible. 🥹🐾

🚨 HEY, INTERNET. WE HAVE A PROBLEM. 🚨

Tucker & Miss Roxy are STILL WAITING. 😳

So naturally, we’re responding by bombarding you with photos until somebody finally falls in love with them. 😂📸

💕 TUCKER | 7
Toothless. Cuddly. Professional shadow.
Loves soaked kibble, patio naps and licking literally EVERYTHING — including Roxy. 😂
He has some separation anxiety and would love a home where someone is around most of the time.

🤎 ROXY | 9
Sweet. Sassy. Food obsessed. Sunshine enthusiast. ☀️
Loves dogs, laps and being cozy.
She also has boundaries: DON’T TOUCH THE LEGS. 😂 She may nip if they’re handled, so her body boundaries must be respected.

Together they’re crate trained, working on their p*e pads, discovering ZOOMIES and generally being ridiculously adorable.

🐾 THEY’RE BONDED. THEY’RE ADORABLE. THEY’RE READY.

🏡 Two little seniors. One special bond. One forever home.
