❤️ MEET LOGAN & MELODY ❤️

DOB: March 24th, 2026

These two are the purrrfect pair!!!! Look at their beautiful coloring and they have adorable personalities to match! They are very outgoing, playful, social and affectionate kittens. They're pretty bonded now and keep each other busy so we want to see them go home together, forever! 🤞🏻🥹

Logan (beige) is a purr bag the second you lock eyes with him! He's extremely brave, can jump miles into the air playing with wand toys and absolutely loves his morning wet food. Melody (dilute calico) has a unique split face colour and pattern! She is the first to zoom out of their room in the morning, faster than lighting, and loves a good cuddle when she's done.

Their adoption fee includes their spay/neuter, vaccines, flea/worm treatment, a health care examination and comes with a 6-week free trial of pet insurance.

This tiny tuxedo ensures to remind us when it's time for her breakfast AND even shows us the route to her room! 😂 Take a look at how adorable Mazie is! But don't forget... she wants to be the only kitty, please! No competition for this girl! 👌🏻 She would make the absolute best company for a low-key family, retired couple, etc. who is looking for a timid natured, vocal and cuddly girl.

🐾 A slow month for adoptions but that is quite normal for August! Nonetheless, another 6 happy families and one double adoption included in that! ❤️
Remember, if you cannot adopt at this time, SHARING➡️ posts is an easy and effective way to spread the word about rescue pets in need.

🐾 Intake was at 30 this month! We are extremely busy intaking stray emergencies, vulnerable kittens, pregnant cats and surrenders when possible. There's never a dull moment with rescue work and there is an endless amount of work that goes on behind the scenes every single day.

🐾 TNR was at a standstill for August. This number remains low as we have NOT gotten any grant funding for TNR this year. In order for us to assist with feral colonies, funding is relied upon from mass fundraising and donations from caretakers. ‼️ Please view the many ways to help support us in the comments below ‼️
If you see any strays around your community, check their ears for a "tip" (a slight cut across the top of one of the ears). This may indicate that they were already picked up by a rescue group.

🐾 There was 14 happier and healthier pets spayed and neutered during August.

❣️ TRANSFERRED: With the tremendous help from SPCA St. John's, Amber's Safe Haven and Ruff Around the Edges, we transferred another 25 animals in August. Thank you! 👏🏻 We are a very small rescue with limited funds and resources and are responsible for covering a large geographic area with countless homeless animals. Together, we are stronger. 💪🏻

‼️ SEEKING SHELTER VOLUNTEERS ‼️

Do you have extra time on your hands to dedicate to rescue animals? They need your help! ❤️

🐾 We are specifically looking for more help on Monday mornings, biweekly Tuesday mornings, Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.

🐾 Volunteers must be comfortable with caring for kitties and the occasional dog, be at least 18 years old and reliable! (Youth ages 11-17 must be accompanied by a guardian.)

❤️ August 2026 Cat of the Month: Charlie ❤️

The SWC SPCA has a program where every month, volunteers get to vote on which cat at our shelter should be cat of the month. For the month of August, our volunteers voted for Charlie!

Charlie was brought into our care as a stray and never claimed. 🥲 He must have been loved at some point because he is the bravest, sweetest and silliest boy! He loves attention and gives little love bites to show his appreciation. 😂 He LOVES playing with other cats, especially kittens. He's a fan favorite at our shelter, obviously, and loves to accept donations and say hello to everyone he can! He will make the best companion to a very lucky family!
