So happy to hear other people love the Nashwaak Queen's like we do!

Eggs left to right: Royal Palm (turkey), Nashwaak Queen (welsummer/barred rock hens), and Speckled Sussex.

It’s crazy that our Nashwaak Queen eggs are almost as large as the turkey eggs — big and beautiful!

NASHWAAK QUEEN HENS: We have some hens that are in their first cycle of laying ready to leave: They are just under one year old. -Hatched late spring/early summer of 2025

Chicks and Hatching eggs scheduled for May and June:
Plymouth barred rock chickens, Welsummer chickens, Nashwaak Queens (our heritage hybrid layers): we raise and breed these heritage chickens because of their quality of meat, years of good laying, and foraging abilities. We use our barred rocks as our meat birds, and all are cage free, and free range year round.

It took us a few years to source good genetics for our Welsummers and to grow them out to start our hybrid we call Nashwaak Queens and kings.
Nashwaak King meat chicks - (hybrids of Welsummer and barred rock) These heritage hybrid chickens make a great foraging heritage meat bird, These hybrids are docile and yummy! They eat less food than meat kings, but take longer to grow out. Great for free range and pastures.

Breeding Katahdin sheep for 11 years. Ewes have a mix of bloodlines from all over NB and NS. They are brown and white. The sire was from a registered breeder outside of Quebec city. The third last picture is the sire (white) and his father is the second to last picture. The sire’s mother was a registered Katahdin with dark brown wool. These ram lambs should have beautiful coloured lambs.
Several ram lambs available. Some of these ram lambs are white with brown spots, some all brown, some are brown with white patches. Some are twins, some are singles. All have mothers with lots of milk and good mothering.

Ready for pick up in the middle of June.
