Behind the Destination: Piatto Pizzeria + Enoteca 🍕

Destination St. John’s is proud to shine a light on the incredible partners we value so deeply. It is all of us working together that makes our destination truly special.

Today we are highlighting Piatto Pizzeria + Enoteca, a family owned pizzeria where every pie starts with Tipo 00 flour, San Marzano tomatoes, and fresh Fior di Latte mozzarella, hand stretched on marble counters and fired in a 900°F wood oven, the same traditional method used in Naples for over 200 years.

With two locations in St. John's, downtown on Duckworth Street and midtown on Elizabeth Avenue, guests can enjoy that same taste of Naples wherever they happen to be in the city.

Piatto reminds us that a taste of somewhere else can become another memorable part of exploring here.

Behind the Destination: Smugglers Cove 🏴‍☠️

Destination St. John’s is proud to shine a light on the incredible partners we value so deeply. It is all of us working together that makes our destination truly special.

Today we are highlighting Smugglers Cove Burin, a spot with notorious history and a whole lot of personality. At the heart of it all is Tom's Roadhouse, where premium Newfoundland ingredients meet live music and drinks. Once dinner's done, the adventure continues at Frontier Town. Guests can take on a challenge in one of the Escape Rooms, test their aim in the Axe Throwing cage, step into the Virtual Reality Arcade, or enjoy a relaxed paddle by kayak or peddle boat in the pond. Plus, Glamping Pods and Loft Bunkies are available for those that want to stay a while.

Smugglers Cove Burin leans fully into its rebellious roots, and gives guests plenty of reasons to stay a while and see all that the Burin Peninsula has to offer.

Destination St. John’s is proud to shine a light on the incredible partners we value so deeply. It is all of us working together that makes our destination truly special.

Today we are highlighting Bannerman Brewing Co., located at 90 Duckworth Street in the iconic and beautifully repurposed East Fire Station, a building with deep roots in the neighbourhood. At this locally owned brewery, tasting room, cafe, and event space, guests can settle into the communal taproom for artisanal beer, coffee, and snacks, with a rotating lineup of creative brews to match the always lively atmosphere.

Bannerman Brewing Co. is a place where history and hospitality brew together, a true taste of downtown St. John's character!
