These are examples of how matted a dog can get if it isn't groomed on a regular basis. This is neglect.
Part of a pet owners responsibility is to keep their pet's coat healthy and well maintained--at home. If you truly cannot keep up the brushing at home and expect to keep your dog in full coat, you'll need to have it professionally groomed every 4-8 weeks, depending on coat type. There are no short cuts, no magic cures.
One of the owners of one of these coats actually argued that their dog wasn't matted and couldn't understand why we charged them so much. 😳
My staff aren't just groomers, they are heroes.
And yes, we do DO miracles, but, sometimes, they cost more😊

This undercoat was removed from one dog. This was combed out, not shaved off.
This is why a grooming for a larger dog could cost 2-3 hundred dollars. It's hard work and it takes a long time. Obviously, we'd prefer NOT to have to do this type of grooming , it's really trying for a dog to have to sit through this. And it's something that can be avoided by doing regular grooming at home.
So take a brush or comb to your pet's coat several times a week.
They will thank you for it...... And so will we. 😊
