WE’RE HELPING SWEET WILLOW ❤️

*If anyone would like to make a tax-deductible donation toward Willow’s medication, or any of the many other animals for whom we are proving food and vet care, you can do so using this link:

https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/35354

or e-transfers can be sent to [email protected]

We’re helping animals daily, it’s just that we don’t post the majority of them on Facebook.

We thought we’d share this sweet girl, though - a pitbull named Willow - whose skin medication we’ve covered a few times of late.

Willow’s nanny is sick and her dad, who is low-income - has been trying to look after her AND Willow - it’s been tough emotionally and financially.

We’ve seen proof of low-income, so we know that Willow and her dad are getting by on fumes.

We can’t always help - we had another seven vet bill assistance requests just yesterday alone - but we do what we can as frequently as we possibly can.

Heartfelt thanks to all our kind supporters who make it possible for us to help animals in need such as Willow.

WE’RE HELPING PRECIOUS TODAY ❤️

We became involved with sweet Precious recently when she became ill and her elderly owner, who is low-income, called us to ask for help.

Her owner began crying on the phone 😿

We had Precious seen and she is feeling better.

However, we wanted to have her spayed for her owner, too, as that has not been something she has been able to afford to have done.

Today Precious is at Avalon Animal Hospital for that procedure. Her mom has no transportation, so a lovely volunteer of ours got Precious to the clinic this morning and we’ve had many lovely offers from people for a ride home.

Heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters for making it possible to help animals such as Precious 💓

We don’t yet have a ride back home (she lives in CBS) for Precious, who will need to be picked up from Avalon Animal Hospital around four p.m.

If you can help this sweet girl arrive home safely post-spay, please inbox me.

CONGRATULATIONS, BOOTS!

We’re delighted for this little tuxedo man, who was adopted from HC today.

He now has a devoted mom and dad, a big feline brother and a large, new home to explore.

We know he is going to be treasured ‘til the end of his days.

Congratulations are going out to Boots and his new family. We hope you have many heavenly years together ❤️

THANK YOU RBC (ABERDEEN BRANCH)!

We have to thank the crew from the Aberdeen RBC for once again coming by to volunteer.

They looked after our kitties yesterday and as a result, HC will receive a $1500 donation soon for which we are very grateful.

RBC has a program through which employees can volunteer with charities of their choice and then the bank will help that charity with a grant.

How cool is that?! Thank you once again for having such big hearts for the animals!

URGENT: PLEASE SHARE!

SENIOR SIBLINGS LOOKING FOR HOME OR FOSTER HOME TOGETHER.

Poor Jessie (top picture) and Jack (bottom picture) came into our care recently because their owner died suddenly last month 💔

They are nine-year-old siblings whose world has been turned upside down.😿

This purrfect pair now need a retirement home who will help mend their broken hearts.

They’ve been staying at our building, but they need back in a home environment.

We’re going to have them thoroughly vet checked this week and they will be ready to leave us by this weekend.

We don’t know how they are with dogs or other cats. As far as we understand, they were the only pets in the home.

They did live with a small child, but one of the cats is on the shy/anxious side and we expect that she would probably prefer a quiet home; the vet history indicates that the owner said Jessie was stressed when around the owner’s child.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting these sweet seniors, please leave us a message at 709-739-0077, or email us (please don’t forget to include your phone number): [email protected]

GOOD NEWS: BUDDY IS FEELING BETTER!

Buddy is a senior Jack Russell Terrier who Heavenly Creatures helped recently.

The poor little fellow was suffering from severe dental disease and his dad could not afford the $3000 price tag he was quoted for Buddy have the many extractions needed.

He had been suffering for a while 😿, so Buddy’s dad swallowed his pride and reached out to HC.

We arranged for Buddy to be seen at a more cost-effective vet. We also helped pay for the extractions.

Buddy ended up having over twenty teeth removed and is now feeling much better.

His dad sent us the following lovely note this morning which warms our hearts:

“Good morning,

Just wanted to let you know that Buddy is doing awesome !

He has more energy and is running and even playing again 😀

You can count on me for a monthly donation as soon as I get caught up ( financially) .
Thankyou so much for all your help.

God bless .”

Heartfelt thanks to all of our donors for making it possible for Buddy to get back to having a pain-free retirement. It thanks to you that this sweet senior pup now has more pep in his step.

SUFFERING SENIOR YORKIE IS A MESS 💔CAN YOU HELP US TRY TO CHANGE HER LIFE?

This poor little dear - who is eleven and called Chloe - looks like this over most of her body. 😿

Chloe’s skin is TERRIBLE and she is full of mammary tumours.

She is missing a lot of hair, has sores and we’re told she reeks of yeast. 💔

Chloe also bites herself until she bleeds 🥲

It’s not that she isn’t loved and that her owners haven’t been trying; they HAVE been trying and she is loved very much.

In fact, Chloe’s mom has been crying over the shape she is in and has been feeling helpless to fix her. They’ve tried prednisone and baths to no avail and they can’t afford much more in the way of vet visits (they’ve had her to vets three times in the last year or so).

Her owners are seniors themselves and are “just scraping by.” We know this is true as we have seen their T4s for last year, as per our policy.

HC wants to step in to try to change Chloe’s life for the better, but our funds are dwindling - we’re helping a lot of other animals - so we need some help if we’re to come to her aid.

We don’t know whether her mammary tumours are cancerous, so Chloe needs x-rays soon to rule out metastasis before we proceed with having her spayed and having the lumps removed at the same time.

While she waits for x-rays, we want to make her more comfortable:

As I type this, we’re on our way to buy Chloe some better quality food, vitamins and supplements that we hope will help heal her gut and skin.

If you can spare something toward trying to turn this furry senior’s life around, please see below.

PET FOOD APPEAL - CAN YOU HELP US KEEP FURRY TUMMIES FULL? 🙏

We’re feeding more mouths than ever now - today alone we gave pet food to 22 households and that’s a slow foodbank day for us of late.

Between the animals in our care and all the furry tummies that we are helping to keep full through our Pet Food Bank, we go through supplies like you can’t imagine - it can be hard to keep certain things in stock.

We’re still fine for dry food, but are presently DESPERATE for the following:

- Wet dog food (any brand).

- Fancy Feast wet cat food (we use several hundred tins a month for the cats who live at our building alone).

- Friskies wet cat food (what we have left on hand will not last much longer and we use a lot of it).

- Any other brand of wet cat food

- Cat treats (we’re fine for dog treats).

- Unscented scoopable cat litter (getting very low)

- Dog and cat toys (we have hardly any) 😿

We know most people are drowning in bills, but if you ARE in the position to help us fill some furry tummies, we’d be furrever in your debt. ❤️
