Raise your hand if you’re a people pleaser or a recovering people pleaser 🙋🏼‍♀️

This used to be super tough for me. If a stranger asked to pet my dog I felt compelled to say yes so I didn’t hurt their feelings.

It’s a tough habit to break but I had to recognize that my dog’s training and well-being is more important than some strangers feelings.

This is also important when the person isn’t a stranger. It’s also a lot harder to say no when you do know the person.

But ask yourself “is this really helping my dog? Or helping us achieve our training goals?” If the answer to those are no… then say no to pets from others.

Your dog will thank you!

Monthly Pack Walk!

September 26th

Health Valley Trail, St Jacobs - meeting in the parking lot beside the baseball diamond

This is also a special pack walk as it falls close to September 30th which is National Truth and Reconciliation Day. This day is meant to honour First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Survivors and their families and communities. Although we still need to make serious steps towards helping these communities, this is just the day it is nationally recognized.

We will be accepting donations for the at the walk and encourage you to educate yourself on the steps we need to take to help the Indigenous communities, not just on Sept 30th, but everyday.

We hope to see you and your pup there! If you can wear orange please do! Make sure to either use the poll below, one of the polls in my stories, or DM me to let me know you are attending!

As some of you know, I am a bid advocate for not letting your dog meet every dog (or person) you come across.

Personally, Kane is very selective about the dogs he gets along with and I usually know nothing about the other dog (their temperament, their medical history, their energy, etc) so to be safe I always say no.

There are many reasons why it may be beneficial to say no to dog greetings. Tell me in the comments below why you may say no to your dog meeting another dog!

Welcome Molly to Private Sessions!

Molly is a 5month old Sheepadoodle and along with being super adorable she also comes with all those crazy puppy behaviours such as:

- pulling on the leash
- teething/mouthing/biting
- jumping on people
- chewing what she shouldn’t be
- accidents inside
And more fun stuff!

We have had several sessions now and I am so proud of how far Molly and her owners have come!

We have introduced the slip lead and have started to see some great progress. Of course with all dogs there are ups and downs but with starting her training now Molly’s owners are setting her up for success!
