Gito is a friendly, chilled little guy. He has been a breeze to start and has a happy go lucky attitude to work.

Gito has been in the same home since weaning so full history is known.
Unfortunately the owner has several other horses so feels Gito could be having more fun with more one on one time.
He has been slowly produced over the last year and has taken to riding like a duck to water. He has never been concerned about riding and will happily tootle around the school in walk and trot. He is currently learning to canter out in the trails.
He was introduced to a fence and took himself into it nicely, showing promise.

Gito is very happy plodding around the country lanes and loves to take in the world around him. He will hack alone and in company and has proved good with traffic.

Gito would thrive with a family to dote on him and would happily take a young rider so long as there is also an adult around to help keep his education going. If temperament is what your after, Gito is your pony.

He loads well, good for the farrier (currently barefoot) and booked in for his dental check up this autumn.

A full sibling of Gito is owned and she has become a confident ride and drive horse with an excellent working attitude.

Owners are in no rush to sell, they are prioritising the right home over a quick sale to ensure a good home, no one looking to make a profit and sell on. References would be appreciated!

Patrick is a sweet, genuine little pony that loves to please. He is sparky and switched on, learns fast and is a forward going fun ride.

He has been in the same home from weaning so full history known. Unfortunately the owner has 5 other horses and feels Patrick could be doing far more with the right person.
He has been slowly produced over the last year, and whilst starting a little worried, he has really grown into himself and become a confident pony. He has been out on rides to the forest and confidently explores new hacking routes.
He was introduced to a fence last week and proved to take himself over naturally and happily. He is currently schooling in walk and trot, learning the canter out on the trails.
Patrick would suit someone who has knowledge with young horses as he is a more sensitive ride. Having said that, with the right person he would thrive in any discipline and has yet to refuse anything he is faced with.

Loads well, good for the farrier (currently barefoot as he hasn’t needed shoes yet) and booked in for his dental check up this autumn.

Full sibling of Patrick is owned also and has proved excellent under saddle and excels driving.

Owners are in no rush to sell and would like to find a good partnership rather than someone looking to make a profit. References for new home would be much appreciated.

Two ponies looking for new homes on behalf of a client.

These two ponies have been lovingly raised in their current home from weaning. Both super friendly and very inquisitive, they have both been sensitively backed over the past year and are happily riding away. The owner also has a full sibling of each how have both grown to be lovely hard working horses.
Patrick- 5 years old, 14h (pictured on the right)
Patrick is a sensitive and willing horse. Whilst starting out a little sharp, his sensitivity has proved an asset making him naturally easy to school and train.
He is confidently schooling in walk and trot, and has cantered a handful of times under saddle on hacks.
He will thrive in a home that understands sharper horses and can further his education, he’d excel at any discipline.

Guto is a laid back guy. Nothing seems to bother him and he has been a breeze to back. He not as athletic as Patrick, however he is keen to give anything a go! He loves hacking out in company or alone, and will happily tootle around the arena in walk and trot. He had his first canter under saddle last week on a hack. He’d make a lovely first or second pony for someone, again to go to a home with an understanding of bringing on young horses.

Both are currently barefoot and stand well for the farrier.
Both load and travel well.
Both are booked for their dentist check ups in the next month.

Sometimes I come home from work to my own horse and am reminded of how FAB he is.
We have done loads recently including more bridle-less hacks, riding to new places, going for walks at Liberty and taking my niece for rides.
It is my goal to get my clients to the same place in their training where they feel no nerves around their own horse. Understanding and having effective communication with your horse means over time, trust is built and you can tackle any situation with a calm outlook.

I wonder if Paj even remembers what a bridle is, it’s been at least a year and a half since he’s seen one 🤣.

There has been a lot of focus on strengthening with a lot of clients recently. Being able to look at your horse and identify tension then learning how to help the horse let go with movement.

It can feel like your taking one step forward two steps back sometimes when it comes to rehabbing and reframing the horses attitude to work, but if you can look at the long game and notice small (or big!) posture changes, it will start to feel like the small movements are paying off.

Remembering negative behaviour is as much information to you as positive behaviour. Bringing the focus to small movements with correct form and posture (as your horse can achieve in that moment, we always reward a try!) will boost your horse’s confidence in themselves and you and encourage them to try harder at the bigger movements down the line.

These are just a few examples of postures that have improved, the first over one session and the second over 3 months (although I don’t have a before photo!). Both a work in progress, but both relaxing and learning what it feels like to let go of tension that they have held for years.
Consistancy is key along side good physio attention and healthy feet!

Pumpkin has been a very interesting horse to work with. He started both skittish and frozen. Scared of sudden movement, schooling sticks, ropes, and constantly apprehensive.

We started simply with accepting the rope, learning a head down cue to set his body up to become more relaxed and allow his brain to follow. Allowing the rope to be swung over his wither and around his body.

As with every horse, it was important to to push to far to fast. Pumpkin has a tendency to freeze when he doesn’t like something, which can appear relaxed but that tension is still very much there. These are the types that can to an untrained eye look to be accepting everything your throw at them until suddenly they ‘blow up’. After a few instances of this with pumpkin, I wanted to take it right back and found actually his point of tension started as soon as the halter was put on.

A great way to tackle this is by asking the horse to engage when uncomfortable, pushing them ever so slightly into tension and teaching them they can release that pressure by engaging with it. For example, feeling a hand/stick/flag at his side and instead of of freezing or running, turning his head and neck and engaging. He quickly then learnt that the pressure wasn’t scary, instead a game that he could succeed at.

This quickly trasferred nicely into target training with the flag, then following with a low head and neck into poles and moments of flextion.

Lots of good training has been happening recently. A lot of horses at very different stages too. Young horses starting out, older horses unlearning pain responses and everything in between.
I love the variety of breeds and ages I have at the moment and having to problem solve in a way that the horse responds well too.
I would say I will post more, I have actually taken lots of videos of work recently, but the joy of not being on a phone or on social media is pretty great!
