Heads Up Everybody - Regarding Lice and Fleas.

I was talking to my beloved vet today and she was telling me she’s been seeing a whole lot of cases of dogs with lice and a number of flea cases as well. And yes - us groomers are seeing this as well. While it’s common - sometimes there’s just a bumper crop of these little buggers.

Seems to be mostly dogs but it does go for cats as well.

It’s actually very common in places where communities of dogs get together - so kennels, daycare and dog parks.

But these critters are highly proficient. They can feed off of an animal, drop off, and wait just about anywhere for your unsuspecting animal to pass by. That means your dog could pick up one flea or louse on a dog walk. And that’s all it takes - one pregnant flea or louse and soon you have a colony.

Long story short - talk to your vet about treating your pets and make a decision if treating is right for your pet.

Never ever over the counter treatments. Some natural stuff can work but needs to be applied every time your dog leaves the house. Also, things like raw amber or EM collars can work for some parasites like ticks.

Hello Clients!!

Is anyone looking for a sweet little boy kitten to add to their family ?

He’s only 3-4 months old. Doesn’t bite or scratch. Very affectionate and talkative.

He’s been living outside at Home Depot under their seacans - probably his whole life.

I was helping a local rescue trap cats there and we were able to trap and save this little guy.

Serious inquiries only.

Would have to commit to him being an indoor only, canned food fed, cat.
