Meli, the Australian Shepard, was a bit nervous when she first came to see me. Inpaticular, she was not a fan of her bum being brushed, and the dryer was scary. After a couple of positive experiences with grooming, I was able to get her done with no muzzle. This is a huge accomplishment for her and thanks to the work done at home as well. She left her last visit smiling and happy.

Some.dofs need more time, patience, and practice to be comfortable with grooming. I'm willing to work with dogs to ensure they have a positive and safe experience. Even if take a couple of visits and practice at home to get there. It is worth it in the long run.

Looch, the Yorkshire Terrier has been coming to see me since his 1st puppy trim. I am grateful for his Dad for following me from my last salon to my own home salon.
He enjoyed his 1st 1on1 salon day with me. Getting pampered with deep conditioner, nail grinding and undivided attention for his cute self.

Maya is one of my sweet senior clients. Senior dogs have a special place in my heart.
As groomers, we watch these dog grow with age, and we watch their coat change and their bodies change. We learn to adapt to their needs with these changes that time and age bring. Standing can be harder, especially for long lengths, so we let them lay when they can. We use belly bands to help hold their weight when we need them to stand. We make sure that they get extra breaks, cuddles, and check in with them often.
Their groom may not be show worthy, and there may be some.things that are not perfect with their grooms when they get to this age. However, I always make sure to my very best to make sure they are comfortable, matt free, and stress free.
After a lifetime of groom and a lifetime of unconditional love and loyalty to their parents, it ia the least we can do as groomers!

In case you missed him on our "Story". This is Stout the Miniture Schnauzer. He was in a few weeks ago for his very first groom and got an Introduction to Grooming Trim.

This, of course, includes the bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, and sani Trim. However, due to the fact that all of the above can be a lot for a puppy to handle their 1st time(sometimes 1st couple of times) we only Trim their face, feet, and f***y,

Stouts Mom and Dad have been practicing face holding and sensation exposure (vibration just like our clippers) at home as well for his next groom.

This helps set Stout up for success with future grooms. Giving him the knowledge of what to expect and the confidence that he can do it.

Stout did well for his 1st groom, and I can't wait to see how he does for his next appointment coming up this May.

Oreo, the Havanese mix, has a special place in my heart. Looks at those adorable brown eyes soo cue. It's he smiles that get me, tho!! Check out the last Pic for that great smile and out of focus shots, lol. Did I mention it was her smiles that get to my heart.

She sees me every 7 weeks to keep her is tip top shape. She gets the same.cut everytime #5 kennel cut with puppy ears and short flag tail.

Milo the Golden Retriever is just a little under a year old. He is high-energy and loves to say hello to everyone.
This was my 2nd time grooming him, and he has come so far already with his behavior. The first time, we were not able to do a trim on him due to safety reasons. When you're a friendly golden jumping and spinning and trying to say hello to everyone.having sharp tools near him was not safe, lol. This last time, he was still his happy goofy self but was able to stay still long enough( 5-10secs at a time, haha) for me to trim up his bum legs and belly.

Milo parents have also been taking him to training classes, and they are clearly working. Great job, Milo!!! Love the progress, and I can't wait to see how far we get next time.
