Penny the Doberman just won the 150th Westminster Kennel Club show. Bred in Ontario by Canadian breeders, she brings national pride to Canada. If Canadians want Dobermans that look like this and want to continue getting them from Canadian breeders, like Penny came from, they need to stand behind those breeders and oppose bans on cropping and docking.

Just a quick reminder for anyone researching Dobermans:
“Euro” isn’t one single type. There are European show lines and European working lines, and they can look very different from one another.

Working lines are typically more compact, athletic, and agile, and in some pedigrees, they may show better longevity.
Show lines tend to be larger and heavier, bred with conformation type in mind.

So when people say “Euro Dobermans are bigger,” or "Euro Dobermans are healthier," that only applies to certain lines - not all of them.

And when it comes to health:
-Both Euro and American lines can have issues.
-Both can produce nice dogs.

Ultimately, the breeder, their program, the pedigree/longevity, and their commitment to health testing matter far more than geography.
