One of our handsome fur-friends, Niall, patiently waiting for his girls to arrive for his Pawdicure appointment πŸΎπŸ’™

One of our favourite things about this job is hearing all the stories from pet parents… some tell their pets all day that we’re coming and suddenly they become little window watchers πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚ Some hide the second they hear our names (rude 😏), and some proudly sit and wait at the door like they’ve booked the appointment themselves.

Then there’s Niall… calm, handsome, and keeping lookout like he’s expecting VIP guests. Well sorta calm the moment he saw us he barged through the door to welcome us lol

We know they’re definitely not only excited for the treats… right? 😏πŸͺ🐢

Thank you for trusting us with your fur babies being part of their routine and seeing their personalities shine never gets old 🩷🐾

🐾 A Little Behind the Scenes of Platinum Pawdicure 🐾

To all of our amazing pet parents
Thank you. Truly. πŸ’›

As Platinum Pawdicure continues to grow (which still blows our minds every month πŸ₯Ή), we wanted to share a little insight into how our service operates and why we have certain policies in place.

Every month, Genny and I currently care for approximately 335 dogs and 133 cats (give or take!) across multiple areas and we are still growing.

We are beyond grateful for every single one of you who trusts us with your pets.

Because this is such a unique in-home service, organization is absolutely everything.

We kindly ask that pets are ready and available during your service window and that appointments are kept whenever possible. Unfortunately, we can’t always accommodate exact times or guarantee we can return later if a service window is missed.

Why?

Because every route is carefully planned in advance. Last-minute changes, missed appointments, cancellations, rerouting, and rescheduling can create a domino effect:
🐾 delays for other clients
🐾 increased travel time
🐾 loss of income
🐾 schedule unpredictability
🐾 and sometimes changes to whether both Pawdicure professionals are available

Around 80% of the pets we see require two Pawdicure professionals to keep appointments as fear-free, safe, efficient, and positive as possible.

We also factor in:
β€’ pets that need extra time and patience
β€’ traffic and travel between areas
β€’ large client volumes each day
β€’ coordinating messages, emails, calls, and scheduling (which somehow… I manage for 400+ clients every month and I’m honestly surprised it works as smoothly as it does πŸ˜‚)

On top of that this service exists alongside our other careers, responsibilities, and daily lives. This isn’t something we take lightly. We care deeply about every pet and every family we visit.

That’s why we keep our service days and areas consistent each month
so it’s easier for everyone to set reminders (First Monday, Second Monday, etc.) and know when to expect us.

And one thing we absolutely appreciate so many of our longtime clients trust our in-and-out service, allowing us to care for their pets even when they aren’t home. That trust helps routes run smoothly and allows us to serve more families while keeping things efficient.

We always try our best. We always want to help. Flexibility is possible at times but not always guaranteed.

Thank you for understanding, for supporting a small growing business, and for helping us continue to provide a service we absolutely love. We couldn’t do this without all of you and your incredible pets πŸΎπŸ’›

With love,
Platinum Pawdicure

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately about dogs p**ping on people’s lawns and owners not cleaning up after them.

First, I completely understand the frustration. Nobody wants dog waste left on their property, and responsible pet ownership includes cleaning up after our dogs whenever possible.

But as someone who has owned dogs for over 30 years, I’d like to offer another perspective.

Sometimes life isn’t as black and white as a photo, a camera clip, or a quick assumption.

Dogs don’t always give us much warning. Sometimes people genuinely forget a bag. Sometimes the dispenser is empty. Sometimes they’re managing a senior dog, a child, mobility issues, or simply having an off day.

A recently this week οΏΌ, I was actually sitting in my car getting ready to leave for work when I watched an elderly woman walking her senior dog. Her dog stopped and p**ped on my lawn.

She looked embarrassed and stressed immediately.

So I rolled down my window and asked, β€œDo you need a bag?”

The look on her face said everything.

She was so grateful and thankful that I wasn’t yelling at her, recording her, posting her online, or making her feel small over a moment she clearly wasn’t planning for.

I told her, β€œIt’s okay. Use my green bin my organic bin is right there,” and showed her where it was.

Problem solved in less than a minute.

That interaction stayed with me.

Not because of the dog p**p
but because of how surprised she seemed to be that someone responded with kindness instead of anger.

And honestly, that makes me sad.

When did we become so quick to assume the worst of people? So quick to post, shame, record, and complain instead of simply talking to each other?

Do some people leave messes and act disrespectfully? Absolutely.

But I don’t understand being consumed by the smallest inconveniences when a conversation or a little grace could solve most of it.

I pick my battles in life, and this isn’t the hill I’m willing to die on.

What worries me more is what happens to our communities when everyone starts seeing each other as enemies instead of neighbours.

This is exactly why communities and neighbourhoods feel thinner now. People are discouraged from being friendly because they’re worried they’ll be judged, recorded, posted, or assumed to have bad intentions.

I’d rather be the person who offers a bag than the person who posts a stranger.

So I’m putting out a sign:

β€œDog walkers welcome. Need a bag? Take one. Need to dispose of one? Use my green bin. Need fresh water for your pup? Help yourself.”

Because I’d rather contribute to the kind of community I want to live in.

Things happen.

People aren’t always careless.

And sometimes kindness costs less than outrage.

πŸ’› Small Business Request πŸ’›

I’m trying to grow and expand my little business and wanted to reach out to my amazing clients and supporters ❀️

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to host one of my lawn signs in their front yard for a little while? Or if you have suggestions on good places to put them where they won’t get removed or tossed out, I’d truly appreciate the ideas!

I’ve learned that for small businesses, getting the word out can honestly be one of the hardest parts. Facebook groups often remove posts or people get tired of seeing business posts, so finding other ways to become visible makes such a huge difference.

If your home gets good foot traffic, is in a busy neighbourhood, near dog walkers, parks, pathways, or places where people naturally notice things, that would help tremendously. There are still so many people who don’t know my business exists yet.

If this is something you’d be open to helping with, please send me a message ❀️ Even sharing ideas means so much.

Thank you for supporting local and helping small businesses grow one connection at a time 🐾
