Some members from our dog park community came to help tackle the infernal buckthorn trees this holiday weekend. We pulled out a lot stumps and young trees, and made big brush piles with the ones I cut down. Today, one member helped me pull out large stumps using my tractor. It was very satisfying! You could say, we all pulled together! 🙂

My daughter and I made a good dent in the buckthorn this afternoon at the dog park. I cut trees and hauled brush while she pulled out stumps. Our dog, Pi relaxed in the warm sunshine.

In the Puppy Start Right programme, Bentley has done lots of exploring and learning about his environment. He has also been learning good habits regarding greeting people, grooming, walking on leash and coming when called. He and his human are ready to start the Foundations in Training and Marvellous Manners class where they will learn all about reward-based training and get the basic behaviours well in hand.

Happy New Year to you and your tail-wagging friends! My daughter and I faced the frigid temperatures today to groom the trails at the dog park. It's all set for people to enjoy a beautiful winter's walk in the forest. We even came across one of the resident owls!

We finished up our last class of Teenager Tune-Up on a snowy afternoon. All the great learning and playing kept us warm. Jovie and Rocky were at different stages in their respective training, but they each advanced in their performance of foundation behaviours such as recall, impulse control, leash manners, greetings and overcoming distractions.
