Thirteen years ago, in October 2013, Feline Fix was born out of a deep love for cats and a massive need in our community. We pioneered Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) in our region, serving a widespread area from Stayner to Brechin, and Huntsville to Bradford.

We helped people help the cats. Over the last 13 years, this mission has achieved massive success in reducing the outdoor cat population, rescuing feral cats, helping pregnant moms, and managing colonies. Together, we drove vital education on spaying and neutering, keeping pets safe indoors, and adapting to modern roaming bylaws. We were the pioneers of the north for TNR.

Now, the time has come for us to retire and officially close Feline Fix. We are passing on the torch.

We are thrilled to announce that our mission is continuing in excellent hands. 𝗙𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 is taking over the TNR work we did out of Barrie. They are based in the Orillia area and are ready to support you.

To ensure their success, we have officially transferred all of our traps, crates, and assets to them. Moving forward, they will also continue our traditional wallet and sock fundraisers!

VOLUNTEER DRIVER NEEDED
We need a volunteer driver to help transport 10 little orphaned cottontails from ORILLIA to GRAVENHURST ASAP 🙏 If you are able to help today please send me a message !

We are so excited to share that Cat Declawing is finally being banned in Ontario effective Jan 1 2027 (it is banned everywhere else in Canada)

Thank you to everyone who lobbied for this change to protect cats from being unnecessarily mutilated

Our rescue aswell as another local rescue that has even more bellies to keep full then us, are in desperate need of dry cat food donations. If you are able to, please think of us next time you are out at the grocery store or pet store. 🙏🐾

ISO Donations of the following :

• PLANTS for our PLANT SALE 🌱🌻🌷🪴
Houseplants, garden plants, veggie and flower plant seedling/ starter plants, etc.

• Donations of new or higher quality resale items to sell for fundraising or to add to silent auctions

• Cat Kibble - We are in desperate need of dry cat food donations.

We are currently organizing a plant sale for vet bill fundraising !
This will be part of of annual fundraising event at Burls Creek on the first weekend of June!
We are also still accepting item donations for our regular fundraising, however we are currently asking only for donations of new or higher quality items. This is due to the amount of lower value resale donations that we have currently, and a lack of space to store a large quantity of donations.

Happy Story Time! 😻

A few weeks ago another local shelter reached out to us after being surrendered 13 nursing kittens, multiple litters aged from a few days old to a few weeks old, all coming in without their mommas!!. Anyone who has bottle-fed babies before knows how much work it is with even just a few let alone 13, so we of course stepped up to help while efforts were made to secure the mother cats from the property that the kittens came from.

4 sweet little souls I tended to day and night, a few shelter volunteers did the same for the others, until we got an update on momma kitties.

One mother was secured a few days later, but then escaped her carrier in transport. What terrible luck!

But, with an amazing team effort, she was retrapped and secured the following day… along with being able to trap 2 more nursing mothers from the property! YAY!
All kittens were reintroduced to momma kitties, and not really knowing which kittens belonged to each mom, these amazing mothers took in whatever kittens they were given and all began to nurse and care for their babies.

We just recieved another update that everyone is doing well and feel this is a reunion and effort worth lots of celebration!

Working together for the wellbeing of all these little lifes is more then worth the effort♥️🐾
