Happy RVT Week! 🩺💙

Behind every great veterinary team are Registered Veterinary Technologists who play an essential role in keeping our patients healthy and comfortable.

Becoming an RVT takes dedication, education, and hands-on training. In Manitoba, RVTs complete an accredited veterinary technology program, gain practical experience, and pass the required national examination to become registered.

From monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgery to running laboratory tests, taking radiographs, administering treatments, and providing compassionate patient care, RVTs are an important part of every step of a pet’s visit.

This week, we’re celebrating our amazing RVTs, Alysha, Abby, Jen, Ariah, and Caitlin (not pictured!). Thank you for the knowledge, compassion, and care you bring to our patients and their families every day. We’re so grateful to have you on our team! 💙🐾

The Coolest Patients in Town 😎🐾

These pups are rocking their doggles during laser therapy! 🕶️ Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that can help reduce pain and inflammation and support healing, all while our patients look effortlessly cool.

Safe to say they’re taking their recovery very seriously. 🤍

Meet Abby! 🐾💗

Abby has a special way of enjoying her truck rides. She loves sticking her head out the window to take in all the wonderful smells, so her owners make sure she wears her goggles to help protect her eyes along the way!

We love seeing the little things our clients do to keep their pets safe while still letting them enjoy the things they love. Thanks to Abby’s family for sharing this adorable photo with us! 🥰

Selkirk Animal Hospital will be closed on Wednesday, September 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today, we honour the children who never returned home, remember residential school Survivors and their families, and recognize the lasting impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous communities.

We encourage our community to take time to listen, learn, reflect, and continue the work of reconciliation.

We will resume regular hours on Thursday, October 1. 🧡
