Our Happy Tail this week is actually a double Happy Tail! 💕 Their adopter says:
“In October of 2024 Thor was my foster cat. He was 10-years-old, and needed a break from the busy shelter. I happily brought him home and just let him chill and do his thing. That lasted all of 2 weeks! He settled in quite quickly and followed me around the apartment. He’d snuggle in beside me on my recliner and watch movies. The moment that I’d reach for the remote, he knew it was break time and he’d follow me around like a puppy. Then he’d follow me back to my chair and get comfy again with him. No sooner was I about to let the Humane Society know that I was going to adopt him, they called and said that somebody else was interested in him. I told them that Mr. Thor was staying put and I adopted him!
I started volunteering to play with the cats every Wednesday at the shelter, and there was one little guy that I just couldn’t wait to see each week. At the time, he was only 4 or 5 months old. His name was Omi. I took him out last of every shift because he didn’t want to play like the others did. He wanted me to sit on the floor, cross my legs, and he’d curl up in my lap! He’d give me kisses and touch my face with his tiny soft toe beans, and just snuggle. Well, just going to snuggle with him each week didn’t last for very long. Within 5 or 6 weeks, he was coming home with me too! I changed his name, because he had markings like a dalmatian….so Dallas (for short), was his new name.
Thor is very chill, as would be expected from an older cat. He’ll turn 12 on Oct. 1st of this year. Dallas is your typical full of energy/curious about almost everything type of lil dude. He’s turning 2 on July 21st. Adopting older cats can bring such joy & happiness to both of your lives! Older cats need love too, so if you can, adopt an older cat and give them the BEST rest of their lives that you can. I love these two so much! They bring me so much happiness, and entertainment that I can’t imagine not having them.”
Awww, we love this! Unlikely best friends who were both searching for their soft place to land, and found it together. 🥰 Thank you to their adopter for sharing this Happy Tail with us!
