Sometimes, being a one-woman show means things get missed, and today was unfortunately one of those days.
When I pre-booked a brand-new client for the rest of the year, I somehow missed entering their very first appointment. That meant two dogs arrived at 8:00 a.m. this morning, which definitely wasn't the way I wanted to start the day. I'd like to apologize again to my new client for having to move her appointment to next week instead of being able to fulfill the original date I had quoted today. When things like this happen, I genuinely feel awful. I take a lot of pride in my business, and the last thing I ever want is to inconvenience someone or let anyone down. Running a business by yourself is incredibly rewarding, but some days it definitely isn't for the faint of heart. ❤️
Moving on from that...
My first dog of the day was Galileo! He was getting cleaned up before heading off to spend the weekend at the farm with his family. As always, he came in a little shaggy and a little unsure about my plans, but the second he's all shaved down, the biggest zoomies come out! He's always such a good boy for me, and it definitely helps that he's my cousin's dog. 😂
Next up, I had three back-to-back nail trims starting with Mr. Chevy! He's always so excited to see me and is eager to run into the shop and check everything out. Chevy also believes nail trims should come with lots of kisses, and while that might be a little much for some people, I absolutely love his love. ❤️
Then came Milo and Ella for their nail dremels. These two Boxers are always so well behaved for me every single time. Milo likes to put on a little bit of a dramatic performance and isn't always sure he wants to come back with me, but the moment we're done, he's showering me with love. He absolutely loves jumping up for hugs and kisses - I guess he thought I needed a spa day too with all the kisses he gave me. 😂
Next up was sweet senior girl Gracie, who just turned 12 this week. She stays nice and short to help keep things easier to manage in her older age. Gracie is always so well behaved for me and is truly one of the sweetest girls I've ever met. Grooming isn't always her favourite thing, but she always seems to feel so much better once everything is finished. ❤️
Next, I got to meet Sherman! He is one smiley boy and came in flashing the biggest toothy grin from ear to ear, which instantly made my day. Sherman recently had a procedure done on his ears to help with recurring ear infections, so today we had to be extra careful to keep water away from his head and ears. Even without a proper shampoo on his head, we still managed to get him looking pretty handsome by the end of his appointment! ❤️
Last but not least was Frisco! He practically pulled his dad right into the salon, which was so nice to see. Frisco is a funny little guy who prefers slow, predictable movements and isn't a fan of being picked up. I moved a little too quickly today, and he gave me a small warning snap toward my face. That one was completely on me, and I don't blame him one bit. Once he was up on the table, though, he was an absolute gentleman and let me do everything without a single complaint. I think all the kisses he gave me afterward were his way of saying we were still friends. 😂❤️
