Today the Trio was in for their spa day, which meant Maui got to come along and hang out with his besties too 🥺💕

We put Yeti into a new cut this time, fully embracing the pony cut, and I am OBSESSED 🥰😍 I cannot wait to see it even more grown out next time! Pearl, of course, has her signature boots as always - a true staple to her personality 🙌 And Chestnut? Well, she’s just her perfect little self. Maybe one day we’ll add a little pop of color so she can feel included in all the fancier styles 👀😝

I thought this would be the perfect post to share a little exciting announcement with you all, because this family of pups is actually the whole reason I have an announcement to begin with! 🥹

Yeti was truly the first poodle I ever fell head over heels in love with, and it wasn’t just me - my partner Alex fell in love with the breed too. After losing Kahlua this past year, we tried out the single-dog life with Maui, but truthfully… he is NOT a fan of being an only-dog guy 😂 Hence why I bring him to the shop to hang out with his friends whenever I can, especially when one of his old daycare pals is in!

So, with that being said… we are officially on a waitlist to add a little poodle puppy to our family! 😭😍🙌

If all goes according to plan, we’ll be welcoming this little nugget home in December! Which means Christmas just got a whole lot busier… 😝🤣💕

A few cancellations today made for a very interesting layout, so I took advantage of the extra gaps to head home and spend some time with my pups and kitties. 🐾💕

This morning started with Duncan! This was his first groom back with me after his big move, and he definitely had a LOT to say. 😂 That boy genuinely has full-blown conversations with me, and half the time I swear he actually understands me when I talk back!

After a little break at home, I came back to meet Arlo. Arlo likes to put on the biggest theatrics possible every time he comes in and will quite literally refuse to come through the door. 🥺 It always makes my heart a little sad, but once he gets through the door, settles in, and his parents leave, he actually does really well! He jumps right up on the table, transitions between the table and tub like a champ, and takes treats from me like there’s no tomorrow. 😂

I had another little break before my last client, so I headed home, let my dog out, and of course brought him back with me to see his friend Oakley! 🥰 Oakley is an old coworker’s dog, so he’s very familiar with me. He’s not the biggest fan of the dryer and will avoid that thing at all costs if he can, though! 😂

Oakley spends his days on an acreage, so we always keep him nice and short to help avoid all the twigs, burs, and general acreage adventures he tends to collect in his fur. 🌿

And that’s a wrap on today! I’ll be back tomorrow with my dynamic trio and a nail trim! 🐶✂️

✨ Saturday–Tuesday Recap! ✨

After a much-needed vacation and a pretty rough stretch health-wise, I’m SO happy to finally be getting back into the swing of things! 🥹💗

Saturday: My first official day back was with Sage, Sunny, Luna & Finley! These four are always guaranteed to brighten my day. 💕 Finley may not always want to come in, but once she’s here, she’s an absolute angel. Sunny is still volunteering for every sister’s groom, Sage needs to know everyone’s business, and Luna is just here for the naps. 😂

Sunday: I got to pamper Zac for the first time, and he was an absolute superstar! ⭐ Then I picked up Aspen & Maple for their spa day since Mom hasn’t been able to drive lately. They were definitely confused about why I was suddenly picking them up, but they were very excited for their little adventure! 🥰

Monday: After a last-minute cancellation (and taking advantage of a little extra sleep 😴), I got to see Skye, Hunter & Loki! I tried grooming them all together this time, and Loki seemed to LOVE having his siblings beside him for the whole groom. 🥹

Tuesday: BUSY is an understatement! 8 pups today—5 full grooms and 3 nail trims! 🐾

Cruz was his sweet, patient self, Floki looked AMAZING after his cherry eye surgery, Parker gave us his usual bath-time singing 😂, and Penny left feeling fresh and full of the zoomies! Lightning continues to make HUGE progress with her drying and gave me all the kisses today. 💕 Lola, Chevy & Harley all absolutely rocked their nail trims too!

A huge THANK YOU to every single one of you for your patience, kindness, understanding and love while I’ve been navigating everything these past few weeks. It has genuinely meant more to me than I can put into words. 🥹💗

I’m so happy to be back doing what I love and seeing all your faces again! 🐶✨

💗 A little life update from me 💗

If you’ve noticed I’ve been a little quieter on here lately, I promise I haven’t disappeared! 🥹 I’ve actually been in and out of the hospital quite a bit over the last couple of weeks while dealing with some ongoing medical issues, which has unfortunately meant that social media (and honestly, a lot of life in general) has had to take a bit of a backseat.

I think I’m finally at the tail end of everything and, thankfully, I’m starting to feel like myself again. 🥹💕 I’m really hoping this means I’m finally on the upswing and can focus on getting completely better!

I also wanted to say a HUGE thank you to every single one of my clients for being so incredibly understanding, patient, and flexible while I’ve been navigating all of this. 🥺💗 I know having appointments moved around isn’t always convenient, and I truly appreciate everyone who has been so kind and willing to work with me while I’ve been doing my best to take care of myself. It genuinely means more than you know. 🫶🏻

I’m actually heading off for a much-needed vacation today! 🌲🏕️✨ I’ll be away until Saturday, and during that time I will be completely unavailable for texts, emails, booking inquiries, appointment changes, etc. I’ll be taking some much-needed time to rest, unplug, and hopefully come back feeling refreshed and ready to get back into the swing of things. 💗

And I promise I haven’t forgotten about all the adorable pups I’ve groomed over the last few weeks! 😂🐶 I’ve still managed to get some grooming done in between everything, so when I’m back, I’ll be catching up on ALL of the photos I’ve been hoarding and flooding your feeds with some very overdue transformations. 🥰📸

Thank you again for all of your patience, kindness, understanding, and support while I’ve been dealing with this unexpected little health saga. I’m so incredibly lucky to have such amazing clients. 🥹💕

Now… time to go disappear into the woods for a few days. 😂🌲🏕️

See you all when I’m back! 🫶🏻✨

Today was a full one! 🐾

I started my day getting to meet Ajax, the newest addition to Lyric and Atlas's family. Ajax is actually one of Atlas's brothers from a different litter - the very first litter, while Atlas is from the last. He did so well today! It honestly felt like he'd known me forever and settled in like an old pro. 💙

Next up was Barlowe. His mom and I think he may have some sore paws, as he was a little spicier than he usually is. That's okay though - we worked through it together, and once we were done he was his usual happy self and didn't want to leave. 🐾

Poppy came in for her usual bath and de-shed, but this sweet girl had an unfortunate run-in with a garden box this past week. Since she can't get wet until she's fully healed, we switched gears and did a nail trim and a thorough brush out instead. Safe to say we still got an impressive amount of hair out of her! 🌸

Next was Floki, who came in for a nail Dremel and paw tidy. This little guy got into some deck varnish, so his mom had to give him an emergency haircut at home. Honestly, I think she did an incredible job! She made sure to tell me it was her handiwork, but I was genuinely impressed. Floki is always a little wiggly for his nails, but that's just because he has so much excitement packed into such a tiny body. ❤️

Barkley was in for his last summer shave-down before we start leaving him a little fluffier for the cooler weather. He always has a few opinions when I touch his paws, but he was still such a sweetheart and made sure to give me lots of kisses and love throughout his visit. ☀️

Mindy was next, and this sweet senior girl completely surprised me today. She usually has plenty to say about her nails and paws, but she was amazing for them! I even sent her dad an update bragging about how well she was doing... and naturally I spoke too soon because she decided her face was the thing to protest instead. 😂 Even so, we finished with a nice cuddle session, and she left looking adorable and ready for the rest of summer. 💕

Last, but certainly not least, Chris from Kairo's K9s Training came by to help me with Harley's very first bath with me. Harley is a nervous guy, and when he's unsure about something, he lets us know by p*eing. We got his nails done on the floor without any issues, but as soon as it was time for the tub, he had quite a bit of nervous p*e to get out first. Once he realized everything was okay, though, he relaxed quickly and did so well in the bath. I'm really looking forward to continuing to build this handsome guy's confidence and watching him grow in his grooming journey. 🛁🐶

Sometimes, being a one-woman show means things get missed, and today was unfortunately one of those days.

When I pre-booked a brand-new client for the rest of the year, I somehow missed entering their very first appointment. That meant two dogs arrived at 8:00 a.m. this morning, which definitely wasn't the way I wanted to start the day. I'd like to apologize again to my new client for having to move her appointment to next week instead of being able to fulfill the original date I had quoted today. When things like this happen, I genuinely feel awful. I take a lot of pride in my business, and the last thing I ever want is to inconvenience someone or let anyone down. Running a business by yourself is incredibly rewarding, but some days it definitely isn't for the faint of heart. ❤️

Moving on from that...

My first dog of the day was Galileo! He was getting cleaned up before heading off to spend the weekend at the farm with his family. As always, he came in a little shaggy and a little unsure about my plans, but the second he's all shaved down, the biggest zoomies come out! He's always such a good boy for me, and it definitely helps that he's my cousin's dog. 😂

Next up, I had three back-to-back nail trims starting with Mr. Chevy! He's always so excited to see me and is eager to run into the shop and check everything out. Chevy also believes nail trims should come with lots of kisses, and while that might be a little much for some people, I absolutely love his love. ❤️

Then came Milo and Ella for their nail dremels. These two Boxers are always so well behaved for me every single time. Milo likes to put on a little bit of a dramatic performance and isn't always sure he wants to come back with me, but the moment we're done, he's showering me with love. He absolutely loves jumping up for hugs and kisses - I guess he thought I needed a spa day too with all the kisses he gave me. 😂

Next up was sweet senior girl Gracie, who just turned 12 this week. She stays nice and short to help keep things easier to manage in her older age. Gracie is always so well behaved for me and is truly one of the sweetest girls I've ever met. Grooming isn't always her favourite thing, but she always seems to feel so much better once everything is finished. ❤️

Next, I got to meet Sherman! He is one smiley boy and came in flashing the biggest toothy grin from ear to ear, which instantly made my day. Sherman recently had a procedure done on his ears to help with recurring ear infections, so today we had to be extra careful to keep water away from his head and ears. Even without a proper shampoo on his head, we still managed to get him looking pretty handsome by the end of his appointment! ❤️

Last but not least was Frisco! He practically pulled his dad right into the salon, which was so nice to see. Frisco is a funny little guy who prefers slow, predictable movements and isn't a fan of being picked up. I moved a little too quickly today, and he gave me a small warning snap toward my face. That one was completely on me, and I don't blame him one bit. Once he was up on the table, though, he was an absolute gentleman and let me do everything without a single complaint. I think all the kisses he gave me afterward were his way of saying we were still friends. 😂❤️

Another great day in the salon! 🐾💙

👻 Mr. Ghost kicked off my day! We went a little shorter again to help him stay cool for the rest of the summer, and he looks so handsome. He always puts on quite the performance when he first arrives and would have you convinced grooming is the worst thing ever. 😂 But the second we're in the grooming room, he's all about the cookies, the cuddles, and being the sweetest, best-behaved boy on the table. ❤️

🌸 Miss Willow was up next for her regular 4-week pamper! Since she's such a grooming pro, we've been focusing on building her patience, and she's been doing an amazing job. We decided to take her a little shorter for the summer, and we're both loving the look! ☀️✂️ It might just become her new every-other-groom style.

🐩 Willow & Eddie wrapped up my day - the dynamic poodle duo! This was actually the first time I've ever given them proper poodle faces, and they look like completely different dogs! 🤩 Living on an acreage means they're constantly collecting burrs in their faces, ears, and heads, so we opted for a shorter style to make summer maintenance much easier. I absolutely love how they turned out! 💕

I was originally supposed to have five dogs today, but unfortunately my first client wasn't feeling the best. Honestly, no worries at all! Staying home and getting a little extra rest was exactly what I needed, so I was more than happy to have the extra downtime. ❤️

First up was Casey! He was probably the quietest I've ever seen him for a grooming, which is AMAZING and just shows how much more comfortable he's becoming with me and the grooming process. He did so well today, with the only bit of spiciness being his back feet 😂 Slowly but surely, we're getting more comfortable with everything, and that's exactly what we want! Once he was back on the ground, though, Casey had the RANK zoomies and was running around barking his little head off. Apparently, he had been saving all his songs for the very end. 😂

Next up was Meeko! I've known this little man for a few years now, and we've come such a long way together. He was a little unsure when he first came in but quickly settled and happily hopped onto the table, listening to every cue and command I gave him. It definitely helped that I had his favourite treats, too! 😂 After his groom, we played with some toys while we waited for Mom to pick him up, and he seemed VERY happy about that.

Next was Tank! I haven't seen this little man since the end of last year, so I was absolutely over the moon to see him again. 🥰 We went with a shorter body and longer legs for a teddy bear-style cut, and he did absolutely FANTASTIC! He was so much calmer and more relaxed than during his first session, which was amazing to see. Once he was finished, we even had a good zoomies session together to celebrate! 😂

Last but certainly not least was Mr. Charlie, who came in for his usual shave-down! It's been a little while since I've seen him, and because he gets quite warm during the summer, his parents have had to do an in-between groom for him since I couldn't get him in during his usual timeframe. Despite that, Charlie was feeling GOOD today! He was absolutely thrilled about all the cookies he got and was surprisingly cooperative for his floaty picture—even though he definitely doesn't LOOK like he was feeling particularly cooperative in it. 😂

And that's a wrap on today! I'm currently on my way to the Saskatoon cat groomer to pick up the stuff she grabbed for me, and I am SO excited to have a new neck dryer for fluff drying added to my setup—it's just an addition, not a replacement for my main dryer. LOL. I've already replaced a few dryers this year, so at this point this one is just joining the collection, not replacing anything… my dryer lineup is starting to look a little too well-loved 😂

✨ WE’RE BACK! ✨

Today was my first day back after my little hospital fiasco in Red Deer this weekend, and I just want to start by saying thank you. 🥹💙

I had a few clients who were scheduled yesterday graciously move their appointments so I could have one more day to recover. Sunday night I was feeling pretty confident that I’d be able to jump back into things, but when I woke up yesterday, I definitely wasn’t feeling quite as confident anymore. 😂 Having the extra day to rest made a HUGE difference, and I’m so grateful for everyone who was understanding and willing to work with me while I get myself back on my feet.

And with that… let’s talk about today’s crew! 🐾

🐾 Maui started us off, and this boy was absolutely perfect today! We went a little shorter than usual to help keep him comfortable with this heat, and he was a total angel from start to finish. Normally, Maui likes to leave me a little stress p**p (or just a general “I’ve been here and now I must p**p” p**p 😂) after his groom, but today… NOTHING! We love to see it! 😂👏

🐾 Cowboy came in next for his nail Dremel, as always. This man greeted me with SO much love and, of course, plenty of little nibbles. 😂 We made it through the Dremel and he is officially ready for his next show! 🏆

🐾 Rosie & Winston were up next! Rosie has always been such a well-behaved girl for her entire groom, and now that she’s getting into her older years, she definitely prefers to stay shorter. So she comes in about every 6 weeks for a nice shave-down, which is exactly what keeps her happiest and most comfortable. 💕

Winston, on the other hand, doesn’t grow his hair quite as quickly and tends to stay cooler, so he doesn’t need to come in quite as often. He comes along every other time Rosie does.

One thing we’ve been working on with Winston is independence. 😂 He LOVES trying to get up on the table with Rosie, but today we practiced having him stay on his own while I worked on Rosie, and then switching between the two of them. And honestly? It seemed to make BOTH of their grooms go much more smoothly! Look at us learning things. 🥹👏

🐾 Oakley was our last guy of the day! I’ve been grooming Oakley since he was just a tiny puppy, so obviously he knows his way around the grooming room and definitely knows me. 😂

Maui happened to be with me during Oakley’s appointment, and Maui was OVER THE MOON excited to see his buddy again. Oakley seemed pretty happy about the company too — and apparently even a little extra proud of himself afterwards because he got to show off in front of his friend. 😂💙

And that’s a wrap on our first day back!

I do plan to continue on with the rest of the week as scheduled. I’m just going to keep taking things day by day and hopefully continue healing up slowly but surely. ❤️‍🩹

And before I go, I want to give a HUGE personal thank-you to Joyce from Saskatoon Cat Groomer . 🥹

After seeing that I wasn’t able to bring home any goodies from Master Groom because of everything that happened, she offered to bring some of the things I was needing back for me. I’ll be picking them up from her tomorrow after work, and I am SO excited! 😂

Thank you again, Joyce. It genuinely means so much. It feels really good to have friends in this industry who look out for each other, especially when things don’t quite go according to plan. 🥹💙

Now… back to the regularly scheduled grooming chaos. 😂🐾

We survived the hospital fiasco. We’re healing. And we’re grooming. ✨
