Today is pet Obesity Awareness Day. More than 50% of cats and dogs in North America are overweight or obese. Obesity can lead to many health problems including arthritis, diabetes mellitus and heart disease among others. Recent studies have shown that carrying a moderate amount of excess weight can potentially shorten a dogs life expectancy by as much as 2 years. If you are not sure if your pet is overweight or if you have questions on what you can do next, contact us today and we can make a plan together.
