Weight pull friends! Yes! Even beginners! There are FOUR competitions this coming weekend and even if you haven't competed before, and your brand new, this is the perfect venue for your first try! ( I entered Tove several years ago right after a few hour long seminar, so i mean it. No "experience" needed. )

Track time is so hard to come by in this area and you can even pull in a novice class ( it doesn't count for APA points but you can use a leash etc ) the track experience alone is worth it.

I'll be there helping everyone out if you are new
Ps summer is an gong show in regards to club meets. I am planning for the 2nd week in July for our first one! Wednesday evening hopefully in a field outside of martensville! Pm me if you are interested

Rules for class and practice:

Come with your dog on leash - I will have harnesses available to rent but it will be a requirement for ongoing club members to purchase their own, I highly recommend Coastal Custom Harnesses

Bring a crate for your dog or be prepared to bench in your car as these practices will be outdoors for the time being

**No dog to dog interaction** this is to ensure we can be inclusive to our "spicy" dogs and give everyone a safe place to do things with their dog regardless of temperament

These rules are all for the safety of you and your dog to ensure we all have a safe and fun experience

INTERESTED MEMBERS!

If you are interested in learning about weight pull, or seeing if your dog will like the sport. I now offer singular night drop ins ($40)
AND an intro to weight pull course (4 weeks $175 harness rental included) which I will run Thursday evenings 630 - 730 pm. Drop ins will run after the course, so it is encouraged if you are interested, to come along early and watch some other dogs in action!

This course will teach you all the basics of the sport and tips and tricks on how to succeed with your specific dog.

Completing the course or prior experience is a pre-requisite for acceptance into our club practice nights. Please message us for availability

It's weight pull season! In addition to competitions, there are a bunch of "try it" events, seminars and classes coming up over the next few months. In an effort to try to connect people with opportunities to pull, I'll post some flyers to events, and links to places for classes, that I know of in the comments. If your club/organization/facility has an event coming up feel free to post your location and flyer in the comments. If you offer classes or drop-ins, post your location and a link.

HUGE thank you to Crazy Tails for letting us use their space and to Whitney Weston from Flatlands Kennels Boarding & Training for coming out for our very first seminar this weekend! We had such an awesome group of dogs and people join us and I can't wait to see where this club goes!

this seminar is designed for brand new dogs and people who are interested in weight pull both recreationally and competitive.
Weight pull harnesses and all equipment will be provided.
Drag weighting is a great activity to learn for any sport dog and also an excellent way for reactive dogs to expend their energy!
