This morning our vet came to the farm for a second round of vaccinations. While the risk of infection is minimal, we decided it would be a good idea to have all of our large livestock vaccinated for rabies.

In our setup, with all the livestock guardian dogs (who have always been vaccinated for rabies), the chance of a rabid predator coming onto the farm, biting one of our animals and infecting it with rabies is very slim. But sometimes a slim chance is exactly what you want to protect yourself from!

While we were at it we decided to preg check our sheep, to see if Rambeau had done his job. Unfortunately none of the sheep are pregnant, they are just nice and round from all the snacks that visitors feed them! Rambeau, who lived in our living room when he was a tiny baby, has never shown much interest in the female sheep. He seems a lot more interested in humans. He might not realize he is a ram sheep,we might have failed to tell him that when he was jumping on our couch 😅

Hunting season has started and we have lots of porkfat in stock, so we made hunter packs again!

5 x a 5lb bag of fat for just $40
Plus a free ticket to the farmpark!

The fat is great for mixing into game sausages, but can also be rendered into lard for a variety of uses, like as a cooking or baking fat or for soap & lotion making.

Wander's Tiny Farm is a great place to visit during the end of summer and fall! Including this long weekend as we are open on labour day too!!!

We have lots of cute and friendly farm animals to feed and visit with. Outdoor playground with huge sandpit and real farm equipment. Lots of toys and games, both outdoors and in the playbarn. A binzebo to roast your complementary marshmallows in. And lots of photo opportunity spots. Furthermore, if you make the drive out this time of year, there is a good chance you will see combine harvesters in action on your way!

We also raise free-range & pastured pork! And you can get 1 to 5 free admission tickets to the farmpark with the purchase of one of our meat packages. Our way of thanking you for supporting our small farm.

Those must have been some tasty rabbit cibbles! There was no waiting for the rain to end!

This time of year is especially busy on the farm. Besides being open 5 days a week to visitors, we try to work on as many projects as possible before the inevitable winter shows up again! Rainy days don't mean we get a break from work, it just means the work that needs to get done is harder.

Today we bought 120 square hay bales and put them in storage. That will feed the rabbits and the calves. The other animals get large round bales. Its a great feeling getting a start on winter prep! 1 down, 99 to go! 😅

This Thursday & Friday will (most likely) be the last 2 bunny yoga nights of the season. So, book your spot now, before they are all gone too!

Bunny yoga is a cute evening on the farm. We move all our bunnies (over 50) into the playbarn and there we will do a 1hour beginner yoga class lead by Alecia from Alecia Iwanchuk | Kundalini Yoga | Coaching | Saskatoon

Before and after the yoga you can visit with and feed our other animals, and enjoy the serenity of the farm at night!

Bunny yoga is $25+tax per person.

LOTP recently spent the day at Wander’s Tiny Farm with some of our clients, and what an amazing day it was!

The team at Wander’s Tiny Farm were incredibly welcoming and especially accommodating, creating an experience where our clients felt included, comfortable & most importantly, seen.

We love seeing local businesses embrace thoughtful inclusion and go the extra mile to make sure everyone can enjoy what they have to offer.

We had an excellent time exploring the farm, meeting the animals and checking out all the other attractions. Thank you to the Wander’s Tiny Farm team for making our visit so special!

HELP WANTED!

Fall is always a very busy time for us, both with visitors and with preparations for the long winter ahead. That is why we are looking for a temporary full time staff member, for September and October.

We are looking for someone social who can welcome visitors, operate the pos system, and answer questions from visitors. Restaurant or other costumer service experience is a plus.

Other tasks include, opening the farmpark, cleaning, keeping the farm store neat, and shelving products.

Pay starts at $18 per hour + a share of the tips.
With good indepent performance we can raise this.

Candidates must have their own reliable transportation. Wander's Tiny Farm is located 25 minutes straight east of Saskatoon just south of highway 5.

To keep admission to the farm park affordable, we are always looking for good used items!

You can currently bring the following items and receive admission credit to the farm park. Admission tickets don't expire and can be used whenever we are open.

We are looking for:

Farm hoppers - only the ones shown in the picture (no purple cows with polka dots etc please 🤣). Must be in good condition, once the plastic becomes "sticky" they have reached the end of their live.

Ski helmets - adult sized only. In preparation for the winter season, we are looking for multiple ski helmets for the tubing hill. Must be in good condition (no cracks anywhere) and must have a working chin strap.

Metal picnic table FRAMES. We are creating more seating areas and would like to have many picnic tables. We will install new wood boards on the frames.

Looking for a variety of sandpit toys. Especially metal dump trucks in good used condition. If you have other large construction toys please send us a DM so we can let you know if its something we are interested in.
