🐾✨ Meet the Adorable Dottie Mae! ✨🐾

Dottie Mae, our beautiful little Papillon, visited SVUC for her wellness examination and absolutely stole everyone's heart! 💕 With her signature butterfly-like Papillon ears, bright eyes, and sweet personality, she was the perfect patient from start to finish.

Not only is Dottie Mae incredibly cute, but she was also exceptionally well-behaved during her visit. She happily greeted our team, sat patiently for her examination, and made us all smile with her gentle and loving nature. 🦋🐶

These adorable miniature puppies visited us today for their vaccines, and they completely stole everyone’s hearts! From tiny paws to wagging tails and sweet little cuddles, our staff absolutely loved spending time with this beautiful bundle of cuteness.

Moments like these truly brighten our day and remind us why we love what we do. Watching puppies grow healthy and strong through preventive care and vaccinations is such an important part of giving them the best start in life.

At Sarnia Veterinary Urgent Care (SVUC), we recently saw a heartbreaking but important case of a cat with Aortic Thromboembolism (ATE) — a life-threatening condition that every cat owner should be aware of.

🩺 What is Aortic Thromboembolism (ATE)?

ATE occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in the heart (often due to underlying heart disease) and travels down the aorta, blocking blood flow to the hind legs.

🐾 What Do We See Clinically?
❄️ Cold, Discolored Paw Pads

One of the most striking signs is the difference in paw pad color:

Healthy paws → Warm, pink, well-perfused
ATE paws → Cold, pale, bluish, or even purple
Often no pulse can be felt in the affected limbs

⚠️ Other Signs to Watch For
- Sudden hind or fore limb paralysis or weakness or stroke
