One of my favourite things about running Happy Dance is how ridiculously specific our pet care instructions can get. 😂 We literally have a dog whose instructions include wiping their paws AND bum when they come back inside, using a towel kept in a particular spot. We have dogs who need their collars and harnesses completely removed before going into their kennels, dogs who must ONLY receive their own treats because of allergies, and dogs who have to be returned to very specific rooms when we leave. Some have particular routines around doors, feeding, or how their belongings should be left.
And here’s the important part. We don’t expect every contractor to just magically remember all of this. These details are documented so the person providing the care can review what that individual dog needs.
It sounds funny when I tell people we have written instructions about cleaning a dog’s bum, but honestly, this is EXACTLY the kind of attention to detail I want our company to be known for. I think it’s really easy to advertise that you treat dogs like family, but the actual proof is in whether you respect the little routines that matter to their families.
Your dog isn’t just another name on our schedule. They have their own habits, needs, preferences, and safety considerations, and those things deserve our attention. Even their bum. 💗😂
