It's time to introduce you to Jewels! Our newest pack member and Jetta lookalike ❤️

Miss Jewels started as a foster pup with her mum, and quickly became a permanent part of her family. Now that I've gotten to know her a little better, I completely understand why.

Jewels is so sweet, loves making new friends, and has a goofy side that keeps us smiling. She has been joining the littles so far and has been absolutely crushing it. Watching her confidence grow as she meets new pals has been such a treat, once this girl decides you're a friend, you're a friend for life 🥹

Love you already Jewels, so happy to have you in the pack!

We just had the hottest week of the year so far, I know plenty more to come, but I for one am looking forward to cooler temps this week so I can see my doggies!
When it's too dangerous to walk outside I miss my crew so much ❤️

Hot days are coming!

We are adjusting our week to keep our pack safe during the heatwave. Morning outings will be kept short, with plenty of shade and water along the way.

We have to roll with the weather and some of the forecasted humidex will be +40 later this week 🥵 just way too hot for walks.

If only we could take full packs into Imperial City 😂

HOT WEATHER REMINDER ☀️

As the temperatures climb, our priority will always be the safety of the dogs in our care.

Dogs don't cool themselves the same way we do. Heat, humidity and warm sidewalks can become dangerous very quickly. On hot days, we may shorten walks, shade hop, head to the lake, or simply slow things down and enjoy some quiet time together.

If we feel conditions are unsafe, we will cancel walks and offer a quick potty break instead. While we know our dogs look forward to their outings with their friends (and we do too!), no amount of exercise is worth risking heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

The dogs trust us to make good decisions for them, and sometimes that means hanging out in the AC instead!

June 1st means we have officially started the Canadian Cancer Society Dog Walking Challenge!

This month, The Bat Pack will be walking in honour of Mama Rosa and Kathi Kerbes 🕊

We're lucky to spend our days out walking with some amazing dogs, and throughout June we'll be putting our km's to good use while supporting a cause that means a lot to us.

We have already reached our fundraising goal, which absolutely blows us away. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and supported us so far!

The week so far 🐾❤️

We are loving the beautiful weather this week! The dogs are slowly adjusting to the warmer days, and the rhythm in each pack has been awesome. It's always nice to see everyone settle in, work together and enjoy the longer days.

We are definitely getting excited for summer! ☀️

The Bat Pack is hiring! 🦇

We are looking to add a casual/part time dog walker to our team ❤️

This role would be ideal for someone who:

- Loves dogs, but also understands the importance of structure, safety and calm energy
- Is comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Is physically capable of handling multiple dogs at once
- Has a reliable vehicle that can fit up to 6 dogs (hatchback, SUV or van would be ideal)
- Is patient, observant and willing to learn
- Has weekday daytime availability

Experience with dogs is definitely an asset, but the right attitude and mindset matter most to us.

Pack walks are about much more than just walking dogs from point A to B. We focus heavily on relationship building, thoughtful movement, engagement and helping dogs learn how to move calmly together in the real world.

This would be a casual/on call position to start, with potential for growth over time for the right fit 🐾

Our beautiful Dakota has been walking with us for quite some time now, usually she's out with Maria, but today I had the pleasure of having her join my crew ❤️
This girl has made such an impression on us. She is the absolute sweetest, a little shy at times, but watching her slowly come out of her shell with the pack has been so special. Dakota really blossoms when she feels safe and comfortable.
Sweet girl also lost her sister, Paisley, a fellow Bat Pack member, earlier this month 😢 today was her first solo walk, and she honestly seemed so happy to be around some new and familiar faces. Dogs carry the strongest, most resilient spirits.
So lucky to walk alongside you, Dakota 🐾

We're keeping things simple and structured over here while our team gets fully back on its feet ❤️

Slower paced walks, our regular crews out together, and a temporary pause on new additions to the pack for the time being.

The pack thrives on consistency, routine and calm energy, and we're proud of the foundation these dogs have built together. We'll be so excited to welcome new dogs in again soon when the time is right! ❤️🦇
